Be careful buying a Tudor. Black Bay 58 925 (see follow up video)

My experience buying a Tudor from an Authorized Dealer was overall extremely poor. In this video I explain why. Timeline consists of me buying the watch in May 2021, sending it back to Tudor Service Center in July 2021 due to a faulty movement, and finally receiving the watch back from Tudor in January 2022. Upon receiving it back I realized there was superficial damage to the bezel. At this point, I have been without my brand new watch for 6 months and can’t stomach sending it back to Tudor yet again, for possibly some new issue to come up.

Thanks for sharing this. I understand your frustration, this is truly unacceptable! I'm glad you went public with this, they shouldn't get away with this.

I want to say thank you for taking your time and making this video, i don't even know you and i got so heated watching this video. I was on the fence on buying a Tudor and you made my decision clear, i went with longines instead and it costed me a third of the price.

Thanks for your honest review for saving my hard earned money. I was planning for Tudor BBB but now i will go for Grand Seiko.

There will always be duds coming out of manufacturers; what matters is how they handle such issues when they occur. In this case they failed miserably. Very disappointing to hear.

Thank you for sharing your experience. You're absolutely right. This is unacceptable from Tudor.

thanks for your story. I literally was about to pull the trigger on a tudor BB58 . the black one. now I have looked elsewhere! Never had a Tudor before so I was interested but not now. FYI Breitling and Omega customer service for me has been totally top notch.

I honestly had 3 BB58s in my cart to purchase and though that I better look for some videos online, as I'm not familiar with this brand. Thank you I will just put my $10, 000 into something else, honestly I'm blown away at this experience.

DON’T LET THEM OFF THE HOOK! Keep your cool, but contact Tudor and report your experience to someone above the initial customer service rep (a customer service manager, or whatever). Make sure they document it. And I know it sucks, but send that watch back until it is done right. You will never feel good about the watch until they fix that bezel. They probably used the same tool they use on the steel watches and likely scratched the case as well. That would explain the new case.

Thank you for sharing your story. As much as I love my Tudor gmt I definitely hasn’t been a smooth journey.I purchased it from my local AD and decided to get it resized.Once I got home I realised that the screw head had been worn away, completely rendering it useless. Luckily I was able to get it fixed since they had parts on hand however not everyone would have been so lucky.
Take care

I’m glad I found this video. I went with Breitling over Tudor a couple of years ago. Had a similar problem and sent it away. It came back perfect. Same watch but totally reviewed and has worked since then (1 year) without problem. The warrantee was extended from the moment of repair, they threw in an extra rubber strap and this was all done in three weeks. What with that and Breitling’s online ownership cert, they’ve really upped their game lately.

Thank you for going public and not keeping quiet, or rolling over. You've done a calm and honest assessment.

*Note: You needed to have called out that AD by name.

As soon as you said Dallas Service center, I understood; I have read so many posts and watched many videos of people having bad experiences with both Tudor and Rolex when their watch was sent to the Dallas service center. Seems to be a quality control issue out of Dallas. There are two other service centers, one in New York and one in California and I have not seen any posts or videos about problems out of those service centers. That does not mean they don't have problems, it just means that they have far fewer problems so the posts and videos are scarce. I can't speak for others, but my experiences with every brand I've dealt with has been good to exceptional. I think your experience really starts with the AD. If your AD is not willing to step in for you and get your issue resolved to your satisfaction, within reason of course, then you can end up having a hard time dealing with the brand/service center. I am lucky. I have three very good ADs in my region that take customer experience and satisfaction seriously whether you spend $1000 or $100.000 on watches. How do you build customer loyalty? customer experience...

Sounds like you have more issues with your AD than the watch itself. Absolutely love my BB58 Blue, and my AD has always been very helpful and receptive to general questions/concerns on my purchases. Sorry to hear how this whole experience has put a sour taste in your mouth for the brand, but know there are some good ADs out there!

Service is everything - I’d accept a lower quality product with better service than the opposite. I have a Tudor Black Bay that I love and runs well, my purchase experience was horrible. The stupid waiting game ….. Just go to company that has watches and wants to deliver a great customer experience like Omega for example. I love my Speedmaster

Very depend on the local AD/service centre. I sent my watch to local Seiko SC for 2 years interval service. Although the movement is adjusted to COSC rate, I've got another bonus - deep scratches on the caseback, lugs & bezel, and torn rubber straps. I think they're using mjolnir as a tool.

I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you. I bought mine through a Grey dealer and after the first year the movement completely siezed. I couldn't turn the crown and you could tell it was internallt bound up pretty bad. Luckily I contacted the online grey dealer they and they told me they contacted the AD which was in Italy and that they were going to send me the original warranty card. Again I was lucky because I live in Fort Worth so I set up an appointment with the Corporate Rolex service center in downtown Dallas and I went there and dropped it off. 30 days later I had the watch and the notes stated that the movement received a complete overhaul. My watch was pristine when i dropped it off and I received it in the same condition. I did sell it last month but I'm planning on buying the S&G version.

I’m so glad I found this video. You hit so many points. The influencers pushing it has me skeptical. On point with the Seiko 💯!!

Thank you for making this.

Shocking! I have to say that i've had great experiences dealing with Oris, Longines, Ball and Christopher Ward, super helpful staff in Switzerland and the UK. No repairs required, just good attentive service and customer support.

Wow! This video looks like a legit interview piece. Good job man! It is sad to see what ADs have become. I will give them the benefit of the supply chain issues but 15 years ago you would have never experienced this type of customer service. It’s just sickening now.
