I haven't seen anyone wearing the BB58 except on the web. Everyone is wearing a smartwatch except me it seems. Mechanical watches are more niche than we think.

No one is 'dumping' the BB58. Your title makes it seem like people are getting rid of them in droves.

I have the BB58. I bought it for myself to enjoy and only for myself. It’s a great watch for the money, and I could not care less about the hype, if it’s too popular, social opinions etc.

It's Kevin O'Leary's fault people are dumping Tudors. He single handed ruined Tudor by saying: "Why should I buy a Tudor? I should just get a Rolex".

The BB58 was my most worn watch in 2020. In 2021 I bought a no date sub. And then sold the sub because I prefer the BB58. I didn't settle for the BB58 vs. the sub, I prefer it. To me the BB58 provides a much better look and fit.

Buying a watch or car based on YouTube influencers and impressing other people sets you up for nothing but disappointment and buyer's remorse. buy what YOU love, not what you think others will. That's all this video really needed to tell us.

It's a great watch at an accessible price point, and situation. That makes it much easier for people to try it out. If they don't like it, they can quickly get out of it without taking too much of a bath. Tudor is a great brand that makes excellent watches.

Have not seen one 58 in the wild. Conversely I see Rolex nearly every weekend when out and about.

In summary two points. 1) Market is oversaturated with them, so they lost their charm; 2) Some people get it as a substitute for sub, but it doesn't quite match up.

I’ve very recently purchased a BB58. I personally love it and in my opinion it’s the best diver watch for the money. It’s extremely well built, in house calibre, and 5 year warranty is fantastic! It’s certainly my favourite.

I also don’t see this as a cheap Rolex Submariner, I find it’s entirely different. Completely different movement and the Tudor has much more vintage styling which I absolutely prefer. Tudor rocks, I absolutely am interested in more!

Majority of people have no clue what they like, only what they have been told to like. This has been magnified through social media. That’s why everyone is stuck on the same watches from the same brands. Example the BB58. It’s a real shame because there are so many great brands ( Fortis, Sinn, all the under $1, 000 Swatch group brands…etc) with unique offerings at a compelling price. It’s always the same half a dozen brands being chased after by the cool kids and everyone else follows.

It's funny how my stepson just bought one new at the AD and loves it. I would say they're pumping not dumping!

As long as it would take me to save for a luxury watch, I'm not going to be in the mood to play the waiting list game at a Rolex AD. So the BB is a very compelling proposition, and it has all the classic good looks that I would want. Sounds like the BB could be an even better value in the near future.

One of the main reasons there are so many new/barely used Tudors on Ebay, Marketplace etc is because for one to get a Rolex, one has to more than likely buy a Tudor first, or a watch like an Omega Seamaster if the AD also carries Omega. Once one gets the call that the steel Rolex has arrived (if one is lucky to get the call) then the Tudor and the Omega get sold at a loss, but a much smaller loss that if one buys the a rolex from a grey dealer. Let's say I want a Rolex Sub, retail $8100. I buy a Tudor black bay and an Omega seamaster on strap for $8500, once the Sub arrives I sell both the Tudor and the Omega for $6500 or a little more. I lost 2k, but if I get the Sub from a grey I will overpay 5k or more. And I have a full set with my name on the papers. Sad reality, but Rolex is sacrificing the Tudor brand watches by forcing people who want a steel Rolex to buy them

My heart loves this watch….its part of my collection and ill probably never get rid of it. I bought my BB58 for the right reason. It truly appeals to me, that’s the way I’ve bought all my watches. Too many people today think of watches as an investment and want to turn around and flip them. Probably why the gray market is so inflated.

Nice review! As a BB58 owner I will never sell mine. Still in the collection. Has all the check marks checked for my needs.

So basically, your buying habits are dictated by what those around you are purchasing. You are not buying watches or cars for their intrinsic value or your subjective desire, but are making decisions based on your concern of the opinions of those around you. What the hell??

If a watch is of high quality, looks good and I want to buy it, I buy it. Not once would it enter my head “yea, nah, not buying this because it’s just all over Insta”. I don’t care if one person owns it or a million, I buy what I want.

Most "watchguys" are usually sheep that buy what they are told is good vs buying what they truly like. After acquiring a certain watch, they soon realize that it doesn't live up to the hype and end up flipping it, especially if they overpaid. Then they repeat the cycle with another overhyped watch.

I don't care too much about what the majority of people are talking about, social media, etc, I have my own opinion and taste. I bought the BB Black (41mm) 2 and a half years ago and the BB GMT one year ago. I'm really happy and delighted with both watches and I don't think that I will sell them. Great video and thanks for sharing.

The 58 is simply the best watch you can buy for that price point. My 58 blue hasn’t left my wrist for 12 months. It is absolutely bang on.
