How to Talk about the Past with 'Used To' and 'Would'

In this English lesson I'll help you learn how to use "used to" and "would" to talk about repeated actions in the past that are no longer happening. Do you know how to do this? It's actually a fairly simple way to talk about the past in English. You don't even need to conjugate the verb! Wow!

In this English lesson you'll learn how to form the sentences, when to use them, and I'll also give plenty of examples.

Here's a couple right now, "When I was a kid, I used to eat cereal.", or, "When I was a kid, I would eat cereal." Two ways to talk about a repeated action in the past that no longer happens. Now you know!

Thanks for watching this free English lesson about how to use "used to" and "would" to talk about the past. Have a great day!

⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Thank you, Bob, for excellent videos like this. I used to spend my summer vacation at my grandparents' house in summers. But I no longer go there.

when I was younger, I would go to the town's library to borrow books and return them after reading ...

Have a great day...

Thank you Bob!! It's very useful lesson to me. I've been confusing 'would' and ' used to' for describing the past. I love your lessons.

I used to ask some questions to our online teacher Bob, but I would say not to any more ...Then I just decided to give the last try ..

Can you please share a short video about the difference or thr use of " the NEXT Friday and THE FOLLOWING Friday" as it means within the same week we are or the coming one ?!
Even in Oxford English dictionary it's not that clear.

Thanks a million for all the useful videos and your valuable time!
You are a great teacher !
