Differences living in Czechia vs USA #shorts

Things I do living in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 that I never did living in the USA 🇺🇸

Some of these I never needed to do in the US and others you can’t really do there

And I want is to share my observations of some small differences between the 2 countries

So here they are!

1. Drinking alcohol in public. In the Czech Republic apart from a few specific places you can basically drink anywhere you want. I sometimes go to the park or walk on the streets with an open beer and never have to worry. Whereas in the US there are strict open container laws and it’s often illegal to drink in public areas.

2. Hang dry all my clothes. A lot of homes in the Czech Republic don’t have dryers so you have to hang dry your clothes. I always had a dryer in every place I lived in the US.

3. Pay to use public restrooms. Yes, in many places in the Czech Republic you will have to pay a small fee amount of money to go to the bathroom (usually like $0.5-1). I also have to pay for water in restaurants sometimes. But I never really saw these things before in the USA.

4. Wearing house shoes or slippers whenever I’m inside. Back in the USA I just wore socks, bare feet, or even shoes in the house sometimes. But the Czechs are super concious of always wearing house shoes and it caught on for me 😂. They’ll even occasionally switch to them at work.

5. Fly to other countries for less than $30. In America domestic and international travel is super expensive. But here in Europe I’ve been able to fly to other countries for as little as $16. Gotta love budget airlines ✈️.

What do you think of these? Do you have any more to add?

At many Czech schools students and employees must take off their outdoor shoes and swap for either house shoes or slip ons for school day!

Number 6: take public transit
Number 7: walk around in public without fear of violence
Number 8: routinely experience pleasant public spaces and nature

As a British person I still find it crazy that Americans cannot drink alcohol in public.

Here are 5 Things that are different in America (school edition) :

1: the grading system in Czech republic is different. America has letters and we have numbers. (An A = 1 or an F = 5)

2: Elementary in America is from 1st grade to 5th grade but in Czech republic elementary is from 1st grade to 9th grade.

3: we have to take off our shoes and put on slippers. Unless it's the last or first day off school when you're in school for only one hour.

4: mostly in America you have to bring your lunch in your lunchbox but in Czech republic you don't. You go with your class to the cafeteria and you get food from the cooks that was cooked that day. The only thing your parents must do so u get your lunch is pay for the lunch.

5: in most of the schools we don't go to different classes. We wait in one class and the teachers go and visit different classes.

That's all! Hope you liked it!
I'm gonna try and make different editions but now i made just this! ❤

You should be careful with alcohol in public places. You can be fined in some towns.

I'm from the Czech Republic and drinking alcohol in many public places is illegal, especially in Prague in the city center

I have been to your wonderful country twice. It is unlikely I will be able to visit again sadly.

But I am thankful for the kindness I was shown by all I met.

God bless you all.

I live in Louisiana and we actually drink alcohol in public legally here. I also wear slippers in the house as well. Love your videos.

In the Czech Republic, you don't have to wear a school uniform and you can wear almost any clothes you want

Don't drink an alcohol in public, especially in cities! It's often illegal in many places by city councils. Do it please at home or pubs.

Unfortunately, in Romania is now forbidden to drink in the street. But people just hide from police. 😅

Tbf in most US states you have to fly quite long to leave the country, so of course it costs more than 30$.
