Many years ago I worked at a soda fountain...
I used to make these for myself all the time.Sometimes the seltzer water from our tap was so much that it would dilute and almost destroy the taste of the Coke itself...since we had these tall shaped glasses I would pump at least a third of the glass with Coke syrup, then fill the rest with the seltzer water abd then stir it with a long spoon to mix it tasting Coca-Cola ever. Quite a few guys who worked a soda fountain in the old days(old fashioned ice cream parlors for example) did it this way....They were the best tasting Coca-Cola drinks EVER!!! I miss those days. It's been a bit diluted, but that's why, even today. Coke from a fountain (7-11 big gulps, mainly) are the best tasting...followed by Coke in GLASS bottles and then in plastic bottles. Forget cans...they 're so diluted they taste like the aluminum can they come in.
