After spending a week getting to know the redesigned 2022 Honda Civic, I've got a few things I like and don't like. This 2022 Civic has a brand new design and interior layout but still offers the same great space, ergonomics, and driving dynamics you've come to expect with the Honda Civic.

So, pump up the volume of that Bose system and voila! cabin noise, rattling touch screen and noisy seat belts are problems no more!

Got my Touring on June 16, the first day dealers were allowed to sell them. I agree on the first 2 dislikes, NO lumbar and too noisy. Otherwise I love it. Honda really upgraded the suspension and steering. Overall feels more German and solid. Some other nice touches I noticed. Aluminum hood and configurable instrument cluster.

I think your reviews are the best because you show that good and are honest enough to show the bad as well.

Given that I'm going from a 2007 Ford Fusion with broken suspension to this, I don't think the road noise will bother me too much lol

I agree totally about the lack of lumbar support. And your comments about the rattle from the display are interesting; I'm not real fond of these iPad-like displays that stick up from the top of the dash -- they look so fragile. It's not surprising that there's a rattle. (I haven't yet driven a '22 yet, none of my local dealers have any in stock!)

I have a sport and no rattle on my screen. lack of lumbar support doesnt really bother me since all the other cars I tested at similar price points didnt have it either and Ive never driven a car with it to begin with. And cabin noise has never bothered me, I just blast music over it. I will say I wish they had wireless apple car play across all trims, especially when a lot of their competition does like the elantra. I would also like the option to get a wireless charger installed in the non touring models, or at least a second usb port

Walk away auto lock has been a thing since 2016 Pilot came out, i love this feature, I don’t know why other brands don’t have it.

Two of the dislikes that I agree is the lack of lumbar adjustability and the road noise. Another dislike is the lack of a/c ventilation for the rear seats in the top trims. For the lower trims a big dislike is that the rear seats don’t fold down 60/40 but the entire bench seat is folded down; so you wouldn’t have the option for the seat to be partially down while someone is seating in the rear. I would rather have the Si version of the Honda Civic but it’s disappointing that it won’t be available as a hatchback — probably a deal breaker.

You might want to get the screen rattle checked, I have the Touring model and my screen doesn’t do that

We have a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats in Canada on the Touring. We also only get the 1.5T on the Touring. All other trims get the 2.0…that’s why I ordered a Touring. Great video.

I agree about the horn and noise. I bought my honda civic sport last nov 26, 2021, 2 weeks ago only and I heard a annoying noise when my car park with engine on. I will bring the car back to honda dealer this weekend to complain about it.

My number 1 like… driver side room. 6’6” 270# and I fit just fine! Very nice.

Can’t wait to hear your quick thoughts. We know the lack of power lumbar is a big deal for many! Me! And you just covered it. Shame on Honda.

With every new car or refresh, Honda claims they've improved interior noise levels (so they know interior noise is a common complaint about their vehicles). But it's almost never enough - and the upcoming Hatchback will probably be even louder. I'd imagine Honda considers the minimal addition of sound deadening to be an easy, no-cost, weight reduction strategy to improve mpg and performance. After owning a noisy vehicle for many years, interior noise is now a deal-breaker for me, pushing me toward a Mazda 3 Hatch.

Buying a 1st generation car is usually not the best idea I guess. I leased my new CX-5 recently and while I wasn’t thrilled about buying the last year of my generation because the looks will change soon I guess, but this thing has No Rattles. Because of course a manufacturer has some time to improve their cars if they care to.

3:11 That horn is classic Honda. My father's '81 Accord 2-door HATCHBACK has exactly the same horn tone. That was standard across all Honda's up until the last generation Accord when Honda started using American-style horns on their bigger cars.

I have a Ex model and I wish that it was like the touring model with Xm radio and what I don’t like is the auto shut off when you park or sitting in traffic and the engine shuts off and it turns back on when you drive you have to turn off the switch every time to prevent it from doing it first one I ever had in the car and I never liked it otherwise I enjoy the rest of the car

I do understand the need for lumbar support. The road noise can change with the better tires. Honda usually have good horns 😂. I really like the new Civic a lot.

Effing Canada! Pisses me off, they always get all of the top of the line stuff in their Civics. Not having a heated steering wheel in a top touring trim is unacceptable!

I’m waiting for the hatchback. I own an 18 hatch which I love. But we just bought a 22 odyssey so I’ll be awaiting a few years to replace mine. Maybe si hatch will be out by then. Our mid level odyssey has lumbar and a great horn! Why did they cheap out with civic!!
