Slaxx was just an adult version of a jimmy neutron episode and I love it

Slaxxs makes me think of that one off joke in Dragon Age with the Dwarf Oghren if you befriend him, there's a moment when he is pissass drunk and goes on about how some dude once told him there are creatures called Shleets that crave eyeballs, and they are a mimic like creature taking the form of pants. I feel like someone remembered that, then made it into a movie, and I love it.

How is Malignant not on this list it was the most original and unique horror movie of the year

I like how the thumbnail spoils "Lamb".

I felt like Candyman got a little lost in the themes and wasn't horrific enough - the original was able to balance the horror and message better

A Quiet Place 2 was much better than I was expecting. Krasinski did the smart thing in making Regan the focus. He showed that kids can be in horror and not be a detriment

Both Malignant and Last Night in Soho deserve a place in this list

Lamb was not a good horror movie. It was more of a wholesome story about a family that takes a dark turn at the very very end. Not a horror movie.

I was honestly shocked how good the ram-thing was in Lamb. I spent most of the movie just giggling whenever the lamb was on screen, just laughing at how it looks like someone just photoshopped a lambs head onto a child's body. But then the reveal of ram-daddy with a gun and was like "holy fucking shit".

I like what you said about the horror genre being a legit and serious category for awards. just look at Hereditary and Midsommar, they might not be too scary, but they are beautiful films.

Surprised to see Halloween Kills, Conjuring 3, Antlers and Malignant didn’t make the list

Saint Maud is good, but I wouldn’t consider it horror but more of a psychological drama. Lamb also wouldn’t fall so much under a horror movie, it’s disturbing but not like horror disturbing, it’s rather surreal
