The way One Piece embodies the desire for freedom is such a strong pillar to latch onto. For people who care about life and the world, and especially for people who like to question the world we live in and the people in power, One Piece is just unlike anything else. It feels like home and ominously parallels real life in scary and amazing ways. And even tho it embodies some very dark themes that parallel the atrocities committed by people in real life almost too closely sometimes, it always feels like the story is embracing you in a warm family hug with how comfortable and fun the main characters are. Idk man its hard to put into words why One Piece grips me like no other story

I believe a lot of people picked up the series during 2020, when COVID started and we were all trapped in our houses. I was one of them. It was really the perfect time to catch up, since I was able to read the end of Wano and see all the hype moments and hop on right before the beginning of the final saga. I remember being 8 years old going around my school asking people if they know one piece and people just used to look at me dumb. Now I’m 18 and I see people at my high school where one piece shirts or backpacks and honestly it just puts a smile on my face. I grew up reading One Piece from around the year 2000 or so…I was like 10 years old back then? Maybe 11 or 12 but always found the story so funny, fun, action packed and just really really amazing. I always felt a little sad that America far preferred Naruto and Bleach and seemed to totally neglect One Piece. I’m soooo happy to see that nowadays One Piece is now regarded as definitely a HUGE deal in the manga world and even in the US now. Hope to see everyone stay in love with One Piece forever.

For people who are hesitant to get into One Piece, let me just tell you this. Get in before it ends. Because once the journey ends, you lost 90% of the experience. There is no way people wouldn't share the ending. At that time, it's impossible to not know what a One Piece is. Once we reached Laugh Tale, the real journey ends. That title 'One Piece' is still a mystery to everyone and it's a part of the charm. Once it is revealed, you lost your chance to enjoy One Piece to the fullest.
