All users:
For all of these methods, make sure to close all "Unity & Unity Hub" instances and check to make sure that you have quit out of the tray icon. You can double check through the "task manager" to make sure all instances are closed.
- First, try running "Unity Hub" as administrator. Right click on the desktop icon, then left click on "Run as Administrator".
- Apple option "Private Relay"' May block the install download, disable it and then try the download again.
- Make sure to allow unity through your firewall or antivirus, normally it'll ask the first time you install unity hub and unity "If you want to allow it access".
- Temporary disable "Firewall", then run the install as administrator.
- Temporary disable "Antivirus", then run the install as administrator.
- Temporarily disable "User account control" then run the install as administrator.
- If your using a VPN, that has caused the issue in the past, so you may have to disable or change your location. In one instance a VPN helped, when the user changed his location.
- Clear the "Cache" within Unity Hub, you can manually delete the cache folder. Here's how you can do it:
1. Open your file explorer.
2. Navigate to the cache directory for Unity Hub. The location may vary based on your operating system:
- Windows: Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\UnityHub or %APPDATA%\UnityHub
- Mac: Go to ~/Library/Application Support/UnityHub
Once inside the Unity Hub directory, delete the "Cache" folder." If you can't find a "Cache" folder, it's possible that Unity Hub is using a different location for cache storage.
Note: Deleting the cache folder will remove all cached installation files, which will need to be redownloaded the next time you install Unity versions or modules. It shouldn't affect any existing Unity installations or projects.
After deleting the cache folder, relaunch Unity Hub as administrator and attempt the installation again.
- Search "Change User Account Control Settings" and select never notify
- Try to delete the unity hub temp folders. In your search bar type: &TEMP% and remove everything to do with unity hub or can simply delete everything, then delete from the recycle bin. Then restart your computer and run unity as administrator.
- If that doesn't work, You may have to downgrade to a previous version (Link below).
Mac users:
- Change the owner of the directory to user and the installation. Although you mite have to also create the "Hub" and "Editor" folders manually first. Similar to user/Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor then, make sure all three have their permission set for the intended user.
- Mite have to go to "Security and Privacy" and give Unity Hub "Full Disk Access".
