Under the FDA's current rules, some cereals and snacks are deemed healthier than fruits and nuts based on fat content. That is likely to change as the agency plans to modernize the definition of 'healthy' to keep up with changing eating habits in the U.S. Photo: iStock

Ever since I started eliminating processed sugar from my diet, my body has changed dramatically. I eat about 150 g of protein, 150 g of carbs, and 50 g of fat per day and feel great. It's been just two months, and my friends stop me on the street and say they can't believe how thin I look. I've also gained some muscle in the gym. I only exercise about three times a week, and believe it or not, little to no cardio. The sugar I get is from fruits, mainly banana. What a disgrace that the FDA has taken so long to formally change its mind. Unfortunately there are so many obese people in the US right now, god bless their souls!

obviously Kellog is paying a good amount of money to the FDA, There is Good fats that your body NEEDS and there is bad fats, Avocado is obviously on the GOOD fats and moderation in good fats IS good for you.

Cereal companies must be losing too much money now that many of us have learned it is just a box of processed carbs/sugar.

Unhealthy propaganda should be a criminal offense.

This is what happens when we put the wrong people in an extremely important role. Or we allow incompetent individuates to remain in charge because they either have an "in" with someone, are buddy buddy with the ones who can actually make a difference, or no one else wants the job.

And good news for Americans, because it will lower the prices of Avocado and Walnut

Processed food is never healthier than unprocessed, natural food. The FDA would like us to think it's more complex, but it isn't.

These people are nuts. Ok avocado may have fat but it's healthy fat. Your body can process it through your body easier then some pop-tarts or frosted flakes... This is ridiculous.

While I’m not a fan of the FDA, these articles aren’t accurate either. They never specially said Frosted Flakes are healthier than avocados or recommended one over the other. The FDA guidelines could be construed to suggest sugary cereals are healthier than avocados, almonds or salmon; which isn’t the same as the article claims.

You would think that the FDA would actually know something about food, guess I was wrong. It's clear to see whose pocket are they in?

It like to eat raw. I think Avocado and Walnut are more healthier than those processed foods.

I know this video is supposed to be sarcastic. But maybe can give more background info so people don't take it the wrong way

This is the most messed up angering thing I have ever heard. What is happening to this world? These people need to be fired, what do we have a bunch of morons working there? This is sad.
