Maleficent is a 2014 American dark fantasy adventure film directed by Robert Stromberg from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. The film stars Angelina Jolie as the title character, with Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville in supporting roles. Loosely inspired by Charles Perrault's original fairy tale, the film is a live-action adaptation of Walt Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty, and portrays the story from the perspective of the eponymous antagonist, depicting her conflicted relationship with the king and princess of a corrupt kingdom.

Eleanor Audley will forever be the best Maleficent, so don’t get me wrong. Angelina Jolie still did amazing as Maleficent but at the same time, she’s an inferior to Eleanor Audley. In my opinion, the 2014 Maleficent is in inferior for messing up the characters, despite being an alternate timeline. The original still has some flaws such as Verna Felton as Queen Leah who could have been voiced by Heather Angel and have short brown hair and Taylor Holmes turning down the role of King Stefan to voice the announcing Duke so Hans Conried could have been Stefan, as well as Aurora not having enough development as she should have had. Still, asides from the flaws, the original Sleeping Beauty is better than the 2014 Maleficent.
