Origins Project is pleased to present a top-notch discussion of the nature of the universe, the possibilities of a multiverse, and exciting discoveries in fundamental physics. Join Nobel Laureates Frank Wilczek, David Gross, and Brian Schmidt, as well as esteemed scientists Wendy Freedman, Maria Spiropulu, and Lawrence Krauss for an out-of-this-world conversation.

We live in one universe. Is it unique? Is it required? How can we find out? These issues touch on the forefront of particles physics and cosmology, from the Large Hadron Collider to the edges of the visible Universe. This panel will bring together the leading scientists and thinkers working at both these frontiers to discuss how we can probe the fundamental fabric of reality.

How do people get this smart? I envy their passion for their work.

After watching so many of these I get chills whenever current leaders of science bring up giants like Einstein, Niels Bohr, Michael Faraday, Maxwell, ect. And you can feel the sadness when they say there names almost like "I wish you were still alive to help us with our 21th century questions."

Could you imagine a reaction video of Einstein when MIT first came out with their trillion FPS videos. Einstein would shit himself out of shear excitement,

Why are so many religious people in these comments getting so Mad at these people, and not only mad but many of you call these people idiots..

What kind of attitude is that for a moral religious person. If you want people to listen to your religious beliefs, then why can't you listen to these beliefs.

The majority of atheists and scientists don't want disprove your God, but it so happens that the evidence they gather doesn't support it. We know the earth is older than 6000 years old.

I really admire the passion n enthusiasm of Lawrence Krauss..n his work on the Origins Project..hopefully this project will continue..now almost everyone has access to this kind of scientific programmes..

I'm loving these debates. Kudos to Lawrence Krauss.

Why would an all powerful god from any religion reveal himself in only one part of the world to a single race and to the poorest of people, for this simple pattern shows to me that those with nothing to loose had everything to gain from the spread of religion.

The opening was quite interesting but, if someone doesn't have the patience for it:

I honestly learn more from these talks and debates than I did in my high school classes. Wonderfully taught, and these physicists make you WANT to learn. Brilliantly made, this Origins project

This is an invitation to see a theory on the nature of time! In this theory we have an emergent uncertain future continuously coming into existence relative to the spontaneous absorption and emission of photon energy. Within such a process the wave particle duality of light and matter in the form of electrons is forming a blank canvas that we can interact with forming the possible into the actual! The future is unfolding with each photon electron coupling or dipole moment relative to the atoms of the periodic table and the individual wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. As part of a universal process of energy exchange that forms the ever changing world of our everyday life the ‘past’ has gone forever. At the smallest scale of this process the ‘past’ is represented by anti-matter annihilation with the symmetry between matter and anti-matter representing the symmetry between the future and the past as the future unfolds photon by photon. In such a theory the mathematics of quantum mechanics represents the physics of ‘time’ with the classical physics of Newton representing processes over a period of time, as in Newton’s differential equations. In my videos I explain how this process is relative to temperature and the phase changes of matter.

Too bad while Lawrence is giving his introduction several of the physicists can't shut their mouths and wait till they are addressed.

I love how when Krauss starts dissing the Standard Model, David Gross goes, "No, no, no, " as if to overrule him like some church elder.

These events are meant to attract young people to science. I'm one those who decided to pursue a career in science (physics, namely), largely because I got excited by popularizators, some of them participate in this debate. But I would like to stress a point missed in popularization: you shouldn't do science merely because you love it. You have to be VERY good at it, talented if you like. Otherwise, competition (which is huge) will smash you.

Just realized Lawrence Krauss looks just like that one regeneration specialist from The Fifth Element, the one that says "Perfect" when Milla is being regenerated.

If Maria (blue jeans black top) would have been my professor when she was 10 years younger, I would have researched all the hips bosom particles !
