Camera Not Working Windows 10 - Quick Fix

In this brief tutorial, I will show you guys how to troubleshoot the camera or webcam not working in Windows 10. This could be caused by the installation of corrupt Windows Updates or drivers.

In this video, we will show you how to fix your camera problem (integrated camera or dedicated camera) if it is not working properly on your PC and you get a blank black screen when you open your camera app. Sometimes, you will also get the message that Something went wrong and try restarting your device. And, if you need it, here's the error code: 0xA00F4292 (Photo Capture Start Timeout). Or sometimes, it says that We couldn't find your camera and check to be sure that it is connected and installed properly. And the, it gives you the following error codes of 0xA00F4244 and 0xC00DABE0.

This fix contains all possible solutions to all possible problems with your camera on Windows 10, whether it is the black screen or anything else because, in this, we are restarting the entire camera system installed on your PC/Laptop. Moreover, this fix is meant as an easy and quick way to get your camera running again but it this doesn't work, the recommendation is to first restart your PC after all the solutions and fixes, and then try reinstalling windows. Meant for all current Windows versions: XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and of course Windows 10.

Before getting into registery edits simply go to your application (for me it was Logitech's standard web app -"Logi") and deselect the CAM from the list of video sources. Then select the video cam again and it should work. Mine was working fine until a forced Windows Update and when I tried to reactivate my security cam (logitech C920) it said "CAM not available or in use by another application" or some such nonsense. But in my case other native apps like the standard Windows "Camera" would work fine. All I had to do to get that other app to find and use the cam was to do as I mentioned here - force the OS to reconnect to it fresh after an install by deselecting it from the source and then reselecting it.

If this video doesn't help, try this because I had tried everything! I had to reinstall the previous windows drivers from my tablet maker download site. Which was Windows 8.1 and listed in downloads under Chipset. Not the SOC only package but the larger package that included SOC & VGA AND Camera drivers included. Works fine now. Hope this helps.

I followed this reg edit fix, followed by restart. And then I had to press F8 for making camera to work. Thanks much for the fix.

Bruh I watched everything that's related to the camera problem and all of them are either 'f8', 'device manager', 'camera privacy', 'Troubleshooting' or 'switching cameras in zoom' since the teacher requires me to turn on my webcam. My mom is so lazy to even bring the device to repair. Any more ideas? None of them freaking worked.
