I love the way Coleman Hughes has to always say "I didn't vote for Trump nor would I" to be taken seriously on these platforms. This is the reason why there will be a lot of secret Trump voters in the black community.

Van Jones: I was offended.

Everyone: Big surprise

Coleman Hughes is consistently the smartest person in the room and it actually interferes with other’s ability to have a constructive argument with him. He so carefully chooses his words while others don’t carefully listen.

How amazing that this is considered a fringe opinion by cnn. Literally the most reasonable guy out there

How do you have a discussion about the appeal of black voters without someone who has a sense of that appeal on the panel?

Fun fact, the youngest person in the room is the smartest and possibly the wisest. Van was stunned by his arguments, tried to come up with a rebuttal, but was unable. That is what happens when common sense gets into the room

you CAN workout the "DIFFERENCES" whether you are a republican, a democrat, an independent, black, white, brown, or yellow. but you CAN'T workout the "LIES".

I have one question as a black man. What positive policies have Donald Trump presented to the black community.

I wonder if they were offended when Biden says if you don't vote for me you're not black?

I really appreciate how Van Jones had respect for Coleman Hughes and didn't attach his character like SUNNY HOSTIN did - that was so disgraceful. Clearly this man is intelligent and has a story to tell via research and personal experience.

Why didn't they actually get a Black Conservative to discuss this?

Why put him on there you should put a real black conservative that voted for Trump on there

Well for starters he didn’t try to replace them in their own cities.

1. Mr. 28 yr. old guy, you are a positive force. Please continue. 2. What policies have Republicans passed that actually helped black communities? 3. Democratic strategists need to listen to this conversation.

This was actually an interesting discussion thanks to Coleman. I would watch CNN if there were more of this.

How is the economy better than it has ever been? Better for whom? Everything is more expensive and incomes for employees aren’t enough to buy basic things. Inflation is eroding the little savings most people have. San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, just to mention few cities, are out of control with homelessness and stores are leaving because of thieves taking whatever they want without being punished. Let’s not forget the price of gas and rents. Crime is higher but they are not accounted for. This country is looking more and more like a developing country in South America. Corruption, poverty and chaos everywhere.

Immigration is another reason that black men- especially working class black men- are frustrated with the Democratic Party. Of course, they’d be voting against their own interests, but many consider the fact that they’ve struggled (historically) for resources, while immigrants can be readily supplied with resources As soon as they arrive.
These are not my views- but I’ve heard men complain openly about this issue. This is particularly true with housing and food security.
