He claims the government was overreaching during covid, but the policy he advocates is of course more invasive to every household and more overreaching. Hypocrite.

They seem like great people until they hold a power and you see their real face who they actually are

These people believe that they must control the lives of others but don't want anyone to control theirs. They're not happy just practicing their own beliefs which they are free to do. There is no religious persrcution here except that which is directed at other religions by so-called Christians. As a person who believes there is a creator, the last thing I want is to live under the rule of people who believe they are doing God's bidding. There will be a lot of fire, brimstone and hypocrisy but none of the mercy and compassion. You can see that right now.

Personal liberty they say and now they want to make laws that strip personal liberties.

Trying to save lives after a bumbled response to a health emergency is not overreach. How many people on their deathbed expressing regret do they have to hear before they grow some empathy?

Children are required to be vaccinated to go to school. Why ? So they don't end up dead or crippled.

“The biggest threat to America today is not communism, it’s moving America toward a fascist theocracy, and everything that’s happened during the Reagan administration is steering us right down that pipe.”

Christo-fascism crawls out from under its rock.
Thanks to 45. Thanks to Reagan.

If people are unwilling to sacrifice for your neighbors, then the government must step in and protect the lives of those same people you are unwilling to protect.

Ideally, the government would've preferred not to get involved.

I have a trucking company and I am “forced” to choose every 6 months to pay insurance on my trucks that includes uninsured and underinsured motorist insurance or pull my trucks off the road. Insurance just went up and when I called to ask about this my carrier told me that the insurance lobbyists presented a request to raise SC’s rates and our legislators approved it. So is that fascism? SC is ruby red. Should I organize a group to take out the current legislation by saying that this is government overreach? A serious question.

“In truth, it wasn’t really that noble”. Right, it’s always self-interest with them. At least he’s honest.

There's a huge difference between the Tennessee 3 and that man Van interviewed. Don't let a nice tone fool you.

Good take. It's fine to disagree and argue your case in public. The problem are the loonies that spot a bonfire and see it as an excuse to pore gasoline on it, because that's the only way they feel someone will see the fire.

Shouldn't be shoving any religion down anyone's throats 🤐 that's not how you govern 💀

this is how it starts though...two people who believe different things coming together and talking to each other and treating each other decently and having an honest conversation. the way back isn't paved with huge events, it's paved with small conversations between people where they can be honest and say, "well maybe I don't agree with everything you believe, but you aren't the enemy we're made to believe you are." And that's on both sides. We have to see each other as people again instead of just adversaries...or worse. Thanks Van, this was great for so many reasons.

Public health isnt overreach. Its … public health. Thats why we force people to not poison water supplies, litter in places, and yet get vaccines.

It's fascinating to hear about conversations that bridge political divides! Engaging with different perspectives can lead to unexpected insights and understanding. It's a great reminder of the value in listening to and learning from one another, regardless of our own beliefs. Here's to more dialogues that foster mutual respect and progress!
