Got an early Christmas Gift and decided to try it out tonight. The Alocs Camp Stove. I really liked it, and can't wait to use it at the bushcraft base camp.

I don't know about bush camping but I want one in case the electricity goes out. I have a covered patio. This is perfect for a 2 day storm outage. Thank you 🍀

I crossed 320km (200 miles) of the Dasht-e Lut Desert in Iran back in 2018 and used one of these to cook my dehydrated meals, even when the wind was blowing in excess of 100kph (60mph). I used a bit of folded up aluminium foil in the side door to prevent ANY wind getting at the flame, and it worked a treat.. Oh, and I used it with an original Trangia, not the cheap burner it came with, I did, however, use the snuff lid it came with, as I like the handle design on it... They're also incredibly fuel-efficient - one litre of 95% methylated spirits will last over 5 hours of total burn time, and that's WITHOUT using the snuff lid to control/lower the flame. Considering the fact a boil is only about 7 minutes, this is approximately 45 boils of a 250ml cup of water.

That looks like a great kit. Maybe I'll ask for one for my birthday next year, things are a little tight right now. All our best to you and Gail, from Linda and me.

Hi Joe enjoy watching your videos. Just a suggestion could you tell us more about your equipment. Like you headlamp type of clothing shoes and other things you might use in bush-crafting

Curious...why Heet? I'd use 91% rubbing alcohol instead. I've compared the two in several stoves I've made and bought and, without knowing the actual BTUs contained in each I HAVE found the results to be very close, both in the amount of time it takes to bring a cup of water to a boil and in the amount of fuel used to do so. With the alcohol you get the added benefit of multi-use...rubbing alcohol for sore muscles, antiseptic for wounds, etc.

The ALOCS 7-piece stove is much larger than the comparable ESBIT 5-piece stove.

Hey Joe!
Looks like a lot of mucking about with the pot ring., and it looks to be sitting way too high above the flame. You can get a Trangia Mini for less than $30, or a 27 for about $60
I got a used, but as new 25-2 set for £27 recently. About $35. Two pots, a frying pan, and a kettle. Chuffed to bits. ;o)
Have a good Chrimbo.
