It doesn't matter if you miss judging somebody or not. If you feel unsafe then you should leave or tell somebody.

I don't like this because the father only gets validation because the shooting broke out. He was still in the right even if nothing escalated after he left. When a father's guts screams at him to protect his family he is duty-bound to act.

I hate people calling it instinct, it's a calculated and intelligent assessment of the things around him.

Been an avid back country elk hunter my whole life. I love the woods, grew up in the woods, I prefer the woods cause it’s just so much more peaceful and beautiful but there’s plenty of places I’ve trekked into that just gives you the worst feeling ever. You’re hair starts to stand up, you feel like your being watched, usually a cloud will pass over the sun making it darker and the breeze just stops; you can’t hear a bird, a chipmunk, a grasshopper…nothing. Makes you stop dead in your tracks, hold your breath, look around and listen and then go back exactly the way you came. People always call bullshit but it’s one of those things you’ve got to experience to really believe. Had someone say to me “if you’re that paranoid then you shouldn’t even go out into the woods”. I call it aware of my surroundings. If you’re that UNAWARE of your surroundings then you shouldn’t be in the woods. We don’t call it a sixth sense for no reason

Part of being a leader and an adult is embracing the idea that your decisions wont always be popular and youll be the bad guy sometimes

My mom took me and 3 of my 4 brothers to California back in the 80's our 4th brother was over 18 and a store manager so he could not come. But we were on the highway heading to see the Spruce Goose and Queen Elizabeth 2 ship. Traffic was bad so us kids were not happy as teens and preteens would be so she was like non stop telling us it wont be long. After about another hour she got a strange feeling and asked would we rather go to the beach we said yes cause we were annoyed kids. About 1/2 hours later we were on the beach having the time of our life. Then the Earth quake hit Dropping a section of the bridge we probably would have been on. Mom never said it but I think she had a bad feeling cause she never ever changed plans it was the COP in her.

as a teen, me and a few friends were hanging outside at our neighborhood recreational center when we started noticing multiple large groups of people showing up and all looked either angry or excited. became fairly obvious really quick that the 2 "groups" forming at opposite ends of the rec-center were about to have some type of altercation. me and friends did our best " just act casual ; we're just leaving" and went through a hole in the fence so as to not have to leave through either exit ; where the groups were occasionally flipping eachother off or screaming profanity at eachother. no sooner did we cross the street and start leaving when cop cars with sirens/lights came racing to the rec-center from each street and exit. the scene looked like something out of a "police t.v. show" .

When your family could be in the line of fire, you err on the side of caution and get them out of there. I once heard a piece of advice told to me from a woman whose best friend's father was a cop. He said if you are ever someplace and you have a feeling that something is wrong or there is danger around but can't figure out what it is, listen to it because nine times out of ten, your instinct is usually right.

My father was a member of the US Coast Guard. While he was dating my mother, he took her to a restaurant. While waiting for a table, he saw some people walking and immediately told my future mother "We need to leave now". He didn't give an explanation until much later. Turned out the guys were Cartel members he had arrested.

My Grandfather's company he worked for had labs in Mexico. He went to Mexico six times to work at these labs. While taking a trip to meet with some co workers in Mexico to go a certain town or city to hang out with them, the cab driver refused to stop the car, and instead slowly drive by the bar in this town. They arrived, and as my grandfather was leaving the car he spotted a man with a machine gun strapped on his back on the balcony of the bar, and he quickly got back in the car and told the cab driver to take them back.

My son swears one day he was being looked at and followed by a car when he took the trash out. He just had a bad feeling and ran back home. He was only 13. I didn’t judge his judgement at all. That apartment complex was always having violent altercations and my son being a black teen has always been talked to like he was an adult. At 12 I took him to get his first state ID because I’ll be damned if a cop said they didn’t know he was a child. I’m so blessed we live in a boring, for the most part quiet part of town now. Far from the city drama and crime.

I have many health problems, one of which comes with the innate ability to sense changes in atmospheric pressure. Once I predicted a tornado minutes before without having even checked the weather.

I have two siblings and far in the past, we never wore seatbelts in the backseat of the car.

One time on car holiday, I had a gut feeling we HAD to wear seatbelts, this one drive. A few minutes into the drive, we were waiting for traffic lights to turn green when we got rear ended by a truck.

That was so surreal.. we never wore seatbelts, because 90s, I've also never been in an accident before that point
