Spyderco Endura 4 Review

While there are a couple of things I'd rather be different about the knife, I find that overall they really aren't that big a deal. One of my favorite in my collection. In my opinion, this is a great balance for a self defense and EDC blade.

Tactical Defender - Unfortunately Tim has made the decision to close his website. I've talked with Tim for some time now and think very highly of him. While I'm sad to see his website go, for reasons he has explained I completely understand and support his decision. Thanks for your support Tim. Wish you well.

I had similar relief-edge grind symmetry issues on my Delica 4. Thanks for the review.

as a pround owner of the endura 4 green frn ffg for over 2 years now, all i can say is I love this blade. I use it at work pretty much everyday and I never think it is too big. Works great for cutting trout open on the campfire and is allso very good for cutting foods and such. for $40 its a must have!

Love the FRN scales on these knives, currently I EDC Delicas and seem to like the smaller size, great review. More power to you to find the time to post more reviews!
Merry Christmas to you and yours....

It is so fun seeing a friend review a product I have, to see their experience with it. Despite it being slower than your other knives, it still looks relatively effortless for you - did you loosen the hinge, use secret ninja oil, or is that simply your knife wielding awesomeness, lol? I can deploy it with some speed, but I really gotta put some elbow grease into it compared to my Blur and Resilience. It's my primary EDC these days; I like that it is versatile, but does not scream TACTICAL.

The para 2 is hard to beat. That is such a great knife. Love the endura too. In fact, that's what I'm edcing today.

Totally agree with you on the FRN handle. I bought a delica today, I had always overlooked them in the store because I thought it looked a little funny, but when I handled it I found out just how grippy it is. Interestingly, the grind on my delica isn't perfect either.

Great review... it's on my wish list for things I want. Sadly I've got other things I want first. I want to go backpacking for the first time next Spring.
By the way.. how are the twins?

Hey Cr0cket, nice video by the way :)
I have a KaBar Dozier, it's a lockback, and (i know this will sound stupid but bear with me) i tried stabbing a pop bottle and the blade came back and bit me! This wasn't the only time the lockback of the blade failed me, when I was batoning the same knife through some kindling (maybe I shouldn't do that?) the lock failed halfway through the wood.
I'm wondering if I should be concerned with all lock back knives, or am I just being dumb?

Thanks for the great review Crocket! I really like the looks of both the Endura and Delica 4 FFGs and both are on my "wish list" for blades. So many great knives, so few dollars...anyway thanks again and keep 'em coming (when you're not busy with the little ones!)

@wepntech would have to be tuite-jitsu being disabled im most likely to be pushed or grabbed at so one of the best ways to defend agnst grabs and pushes is breaking the attackers arm fingers or wrist. if im punching its an upper cut when theyre in my face. they wont see it coming or a straight punch to the collarbone or hook to inner elbow or nerve strikes to the forearm pressure points

I have this blade too & agree it is a little bit of a slow deployment. I too like the size & weight ratio of this knife. As you know I lean heavily on the utility side of the fence when it comes to knives. So this one is a little big for me, but I still like having it in my pocket.
Great review buddy.

Great review. I still have my original plastic clip Enduras someplace. The Endura 4 is almost the perfect folder.
