you forgot to add the fact where if a streamer or tryhard loses to a regular or casual player they'll call him a cheater but if they beat him they'll call him trash.

Streamers most def ruined gaming, in any game now it’s a sweat fest it’s either you’re a sweat or trash there’s no in between

there is a reason i enjoy single player games so much. there's no pressure since at best you're competing with yourself.

The opposite of catering to bad players happened to other games because of streamers as well. WoW was listening to all of the top streamers and making things more challenging because that’s what they wanted. Completely forgetting that these streamers, that sit on their rump for 14 hours a day playing the same game over and over, are not the majority of their player base.

In no other sport would professional players smash average dudes chilling out after work and call them trash. Its a weird mentality

I think it's actually the unholy sweatiness of the modern entertainment landscape that allows games like Lethal Company to thrive in such a competitive and toxic scene. It's a game that exists outside the ultra-competitive landscape and provides viewers with something way less serious, and way more fun. An escape from the endless metagaming and competition, people like watching it not because someone's the best at the game, but because it's fun

Another issue you didn't mention is how it's affected what a game actually is. Live service games have to cater to streamers who can play 8 hours a day like a full time job who will complain about a "lack of content" in the first 2 days of a game being out. So we end up with games with quantity over quality, endless grinds, fomo mechanics etc etc.

Social media/online ruined gaming overall. My 30 and up crowd knows what I’m talking about.

In all honesty bro, youtube has been mad stale for the past few years and it's a breath of fresh air when I see small content creators who make enjoyable content. I don't really comment on anything but I really enjoy your stuff, and how you seem so down to earth and releateable. I hope you continue to do so broski 😎

Vanoss Crew is the definition of just having fun with the boys

In old school cod we made friends because we would find ourselves in the same lobby as a dude for 10 games in a row. Now we have fewer chances to make friends because it breaks the lobbies up immediately.

I'd love to just jump on warzone with the boys after work and decompress and instead it feels like I'm clocking into a second job.

YouTubers killed gaming and streamers buried it.

Its an old saying "You're the winner, but did you have fun?"

Most of the time when I’m getting cooked I just sit there in silence with the homelander music playing in the background while I stare at the score gap getting wider and wider from what it once was 😮‍💨

Is it only me that thinks this guy contradicts himself throghout the video? He states that people sweating and taking games seriously for the leaderboard, for the money and for streaming are ruining gaming but then he continues to say that skill based matchmaking is bad because people who are good at the game are punished and the bad ones are getting rewarded. The tweet he shows 8:32 is literally describing himself because he was complaining about people being good at games up until that point. MAKE UP YOUR MIND BROTHER

I work a full time job, I’m 34 and I have a family. I don’t have time to sweat all the time. Streamers are the reason why I now gravitate towards single player titles. lol

The problem is, these people expect you to treat the game like a job, and if you don't want to, they tell you to go play single -player games. There have always been sweaty players, but it feels like they've become the majority. After a while, it just becomes more annoying than fun to play with these people, win or lose.

It's not just PvP or streamers. It's the players as well. People are so desperate to speed run through every game that they don't even experience games the way they were meant to be played.

There are so many leaks and reddit groups of people sharing information like a hive mind that everyone knows the game inside and out before they even release. They comb over teaser trailers frame by frame just to get any tiny morsel of information. There are alphas, betas, demos and public serer tests etc. so by the time a game releases there is no mystery. Too much info has been leaked by then.

Players don't even experiment with weapons or abilities. They go to a website or YouTube video before they even launch the game to find the meta build and they'll stay on that build until the devs are forced to balance things. Then they'll panic and scramble frantically to find the "new meta" and so on..

It's absolutely pathetic.
