The Streamer Who Went From 165,000 to 50 Viewers

At one point Myth was the 2nd biggest streamer in the world, the best player in fortnite alongside Ninja, the leader of the TSM fortnite battle royale team alongside his team mates Daequan and Hamlinz, the 3rd most subscribed streamer on Twitch, and could often be seen streaming to over 30,000 people. 5 years later, things have changed a lot and as of the last few months Myth could sometimes be seen streaming to an audience under 100 viewers. But how could this happen? Well, in this video I detail the incredible career of one of the most iconic and successful streamers of all time, appreciating the highs and the lows of Myth's career progression, evaluating and considering how things came to be over the years.

Directed, written, researched and edited by me. Apologies in advance if I made any mistakes in my research.

Special thanks to Twitch Tracker for their vast collection of data. This video would have been almost impossible without them.

I don't have words to express how grateful I am for this, video left me in tears, thank you for this video.

I feel like dude is one of the few streamers that could gracefully exit the industry, no drama, no controversy. He can put "streamer" on his resume like it was any old past employment. He can just tell people "I used to be a streamer." and not feel weird about it. That's really rare.

At the end, he won at life. Secured the bag and still able to do what he loves. He stayed true to himself. He's happy, and that's what matter.

"Because now I know you guys are really listening" - GOD DAMN

Never was into the games or streamers like this, but man this was crazy to watch, and see how genuine this dude is and how much he grew as a person. Some wholesome shit. Excellent video.

*He stopped focusing on the trendy games that everyone wanted to watch, and started playing the games that were fun and interesting for him. Admirable, but comes at a cost.*

I honestly clicked on this video to see what ridiculously horrific thing has this man done. Going through his journey to find out his views shifted bc trends change and audiences evolve... is kinda crazy. He seems like a genuine dude and I hope he stays happy no matter what happens in his career.

He stopped growing as a content creator and instead continued to grow as a person. Rather than chasing after what brings him fame, he chose to chase after what he actually enjoys.

I love that this video doesn't drag the person down unlike most. But rather it was about celebrating and reminiscing the memories and the road the man went through.

What always stuck out to me about Myth was how genuine he is. I mean for a guy to talk about his own demise from his most successful part of his life up to that point, and to not hold anything back or make bad excuses is so incredibly respectable

i went from not caring about myth at all to actually liking him because of how introspective and "wise" he became

He didn’t fail. He doesn’t have a dark secret of him being an abuser or pedophile. Just a normal guy who was really good at the game, fell off and branched out. Unfortunately you rarely see that with influencers these days and that by itself is really admirable.

I'm 48 years old, not a gamer, never played Fortnite, and never heard of Myth before watching this video. What an incredibly crafted video and what a compelling story with a remarkably mature young man as the subject. I'll be rooting for Myth to continue to succeed in life.

This was a very well done video! 🔥 People’s interest change over time, so it’s super cool to see someone like this not be afraid to take a risk with other games regardless of his views dropping. I’ve seen many influencers stick with one game for years even after they got the bag and sometimes they just seem miserable still streaming/making content for that same game for years on end. Can’t make others happy if you can’t make yourself happy.

I hurt for the guy. He got me into the game, he was funny and relatable. He was serious when it was time to be and a beacon of positivity for random players. The game he was best at isn’t as popular and the community definitely isn’t as big

I've heard of Myth before but never really followed his journey or his streams. Coming into this video I thought he did something terrible but it's just really unfortunate how his viewers dropped. He seems like such a genuine person, willing to even discuss his viewership drop takes such courage. I wish him all the best and that things start to look up for him

Myth is one of those dudes that I don't think anybody can be mad at or make fun of.
He's just a chill dude who liked games and did what he did until he blew up. There was no intense drama, no crazy clip that went viral with him doing something insane or criminal or some part of his career where he went crazy and started burning bridges. And for people with such high peaks, it's just natural for it to go down eventually.
That's what I appreciate him the most for. I know that he doesn't have some crazy history that made him lose viewers and that it's the exact same Myth we used to watch back in the fortnite days, just older and wiser. I respect that dude more than most content creators on all those platforms.

It’s pretty sad because Myth is actually hella entertaining. Seems like a funny and intelligent dude. Edit: Some of ya’ll are taking this comment WAY too seriously. This is just my casual opinion. Chill! 😅

I gotta say man, I never had tears in my eyes over a content creator but Myth's journey as presented here really got to me in the end 47:30 - 49:25 where he really showed what a down to earth and genuine man he is! Much respect to him for staying true to himself! God bless you Myth.

its honestly how crazy how much he fell off. you'd expect him to still have at least like half of ninja's viewership bc he really pioneered the game back then and was one of the first real greats. its a shame
