Bangladesh Protests Suspended For 2 Days Over Rising Death Toll | Vantage with Palki Sharma

The Bangladeshi student group leading the anti-job quota demonstrations have decided to suspend the protests for two days. This decision has been taken in light of the rising death toll. Nahid Islam, the leader of the main protest organiser Students Against Discrimination, told AFP, "We are suspending the shutdown protests for 48 hours. We demand that during this period the government withdraws the curfew, restores the internet and stops targeting the student protesters." As per a report, over 150 people have died in the clashes. The police have extended the curfew in certain parts of Bangladesh. On Sunday, Bangladesh Supreme Court scaled back the controversial job quota system that triggered the unrest.

The ongoing student movement in Bangladesh is basically an expression of people's anger against the terrible repression of Hasina's regime!

That was a war of the Islamists of Bangladesh against Awami League, Hasina and India, nothing else. It was propagated as a student movement, but most of the culprits are identified as members of Jamait, Sibir, and BNP, all Islamists and pro-Pakistanis.

It's the internal matter of a sovereign country. There's no reason to any outsiders country or individual to meddle and interfere. Of all the countries, India need to be far off from involving from anything. People of Bangladesh are a part of the erstwhile Pakistan and they share the hardened sentiments, feelings and opinions on India.
The protestors may feel that India may be supporting any side which is not at all a fact. It's completely different from 1971, when huge population poured into India which itself was reeling under poverty and common Indians contributed by way of tax and GOI gave financial assistance for settlement of the displaced East Pakistani refugees.
All these are long forgotten by the people of Bangladesh like the Pakistanis (India parted it's holy places, fertile lands, shared Indus water 80% share, shared more funds from the consolidated fund of India and lost Gandhi for protesting withhelding 50 crores to Pakistan), Srilanka, Mauritius, Nepal and China. They hate Indians like all the people from the aforementioned countries and may be more than that.
They don't mind the original superiority minded Chinese and the West coolly manipulating these aforementioned countries but hate their own cousin, India despite the fact that Indians share culture, color and ethnicity. It's just like it happen in siblings. Outsiders are more acceptable than your cousins.
Better if politicians and leaders desist from commenting and giving statements on this sensitive issue. Better for the Bangladesh people to decide.

We've already lost Rajivji for trying to help out a neighbor. Better seal the border and hand over the people crossing over to India from any neighborhood country . No war with any country and no hatred from anyone.

does india has a similar policy on allocation/quota of government jobs like bangladesh?? 30% of government jobs reserved for relatives of veterans who fought in bangladesh's war of independence. Indian veterans who fought for independence from british gets similar perks like bangladesh??
