At least six killed in Bangladesh student anti-quota protests

Student protests in Bangladesh have turned violent, with at least six people killed, and dozens injured by fighting between rival groups and police.
Students have been demonstrating for two weeks, calling for an end to what they say are discriminatory quotas for public service jobs.
They say it favours supporters of the ruling party, and they want a merit-based system instead.

I am a student from dhaka, Bangladesh. The media are not covering even 1% of what is happening here. They are all silent and shows it as the normal students are creating the chaos. We were peacefully protesting for several days. No one was harmed or injured. We need more international recognition that will create pressure on the current Government to stop the violence against the students at first, then reform the Quota system. How terrible student politics is for a country can be understood by looking at the current situation of Bangladesh. Common students are agitating against quota but BCL is the biggest obstacle. Chhatra League are attacking common students with weapons. Law and order forces of Bangladesh are not giving any protection to the protesting students. They are getting beaten by the Chhatra Leagues. So far 6 students have died and many more students have been injured. At the age of holding a pen, they are forced to take up arms. Who is responsible for this? I am asking as a common student or common citizen of Bangladesh that student politics should be stopped and quota should be reformed.
