It’s okay to not want to create something! When I feel like this, I usually go people watching and/or make something I’ve already made (but in an intentionally different way). People watching is a great way to see what others do differently or get curious about. And making something I’ve already made is a great way to keep the wheels turning.

Sometimes you just need a break from creating and do something else that you enjoy. Read a book, watch a movie, go for a walk or talk to your mum 😊

When you feel uninspired, that's your cue to slow down, step back, pay attention. Meditate. Preferably stoned lol ✨️

THIS IS AMAZING, HOLY COW. SUCH A SMOOTH ANIMATION. AND ARTSTYLE IS AN ABSOLUTE PEAK, OH MY GOD, I LOVE IT.

As for the video's message — I'm not an artist, but I write poetry from time to time. I do so only if I feel inspired (by someone or something), emotional (because of some event) or challenged (like one of my uni teachers said that you can't write poetry without verbs, so I went and wrote 24 lines long poem just because I thought it was a fun excercise). The latter could be a potential solution because it is both interesting to you and allows you to grow as an artist. Personally, whenever I had to push it, the result was mediocre at best most of the time.

That being said, its all up to your personal preference. The only thing I definitely would advice, however, is this: don't push yourself too hard. Burnout is a b!tch and it takes a lot of time to recover from it. Better to take things slowly and at your pace, than to drop all your work completely

I've had moderate success waiting for inspiration. It might be a couple weeks, maybe a couple months between feeling like I wanna start a creative project, and I only finish them less than 10% of the time, but I always learn something from it, and now I have a lot of half-finished things that I can pick up on if I ever feel like it again and finish within a relatively short timespan.

I'm in the same spot. I was working on a few projects for like a month, just moving from one to the next, and then suddenly after taking a weekend trip, I can't get myself back in the groove. It kinda sucks to deal with.

This is relatable on a level I can barely comprehend. I want to get better at 2d art, I want to get better at blender, I want to learn 2d animation. If I tried hard enough, I probably could, but I just... don't. Even when I sit down with my computer or a piece of paper, I don't. Even with all the free time I've gained on summer break, I just don't. It's a problem that I'm not sure how to fix.

I just open the document or think about the cool ideas, and see if that sparks something.

Personally, I'd say open whatever it is, and take the first step. If the momentum doesn't pick up, take some time to wind down and relax a bit, while thinking about the result. If you aren't excited, then maybe it feels like work.

Also, FIRST!

It depends. Burn out and writer's block can get confused very easily.

Burn Out - You absolutely have to take your mind off art for a while. Everyone responds differently, but I noticed I can't even watch tutorials or else it prolongs my ability to reset. So I often pick up another hobby to focus on something else for a while and return back to it later.

Writer's Block - Way more common, and I notice people often get stuck and assume its the same as burn out. It's not and has the opposite solution: you have to dive even deeper. The only way to exit writer's block is to keep writing. The 'block' is entirely mental and not because you're exhausted but because the process of creating new ideas isn't easy at first. If you allow yourself to come up with "bad" ideas for a while and keep working, eventually something clicks and you're out of the block.

Has someone who does a lot of different things, (writing, animating, music & drawing) i always wanna do smth, but when i'm overwhelmed of feel like a slime puddle, i usually just sit or go in bed and i do nothing, then i usually either sleep or have ideas for what to do (i try to not stay on socials when i feel the need but not the want, so sometime i also read books) the thing is to not pressure urself, have a good day !#

Go on a walk. An hour or two at least. I find it helps a lot, especially when done regularly
