Standard eyesight is a huge win. Also, LED headlights are a very nice addition. It makes the appearance look much more modern. Of course the rest of the features are great, but those are my favorite.

Just wish Subaru had offered its optional 2.4 turbo engine in the Forester, like it's done in the Legacy and Outback. My wife is driving an old Gen 1 Highlander with a V-6 and this car, the Forester, is the perfect size but lacks the horsepower of our present SUV.


This Forester gets great gas economy, but in my wife's busy highway work commute she has to accelerate from metered on ramps the slowness of the base-only engine doesn't make us feel safe and we are concerned about lack of acceleration in emergency and fully loaded hill climbing situations.


We are looking at the MB GLB with 221Hp that accelerates 2 seconds quicker and has a lot of extra safety features or a 2020 Highlander Hybrid which is longer but gets 35 mpg city and highway and still accelerates faster. I know they cost more but the peace of mind and extra safety benefits are worth it to us.

The Forester used to be a compact and inexpensive tall wagon. Now it has morphed into an oversized SUV and moved way up in price. The styling is also old Pontiac/ current Toyota fugly.

Hey subie. Make a honest offroad forest trim, 9.5 in of ground clearance, 1/2 inch skid plates on engine, trans, and both diffs. Add 360 terrain cam for thoes who want more luxuary off road. Add some nice general grabber offroad tires and the needed tray style floor mats and cargo rubbermat with back seat cover. Regular plug with poer inverter made in for any region. This is kind of they way i trimmed out my forester for better off road and still is tame enough for the city. Lol.

Subaru shame on you guys. Killing off the XT option was a big mistake that you will regret. I have a 2014 XT and I love it. It was the first XT in the United States. I understand that not many XT’s were sold, but it’s not like you guys marketed them anyway. I will fight to get the XT back, in fact, I’m starting a petition to get the XT back!!!

Whats with all these variants from the carmakers? I think there is at least 4 or 5 variants of the new Forester (and they left out the XT fuck). Plus the exterior design is friggin old and dated looking, why not just continue the looks of the 16/17 forester that looks cool.
