The new fifth-generation Forester looks a lot like the model before it, but everything you see is actually new. This week's Australian launch gave us the full picture of this latest version of Subaru's mid-size SUV.

Those front seats are just amazing.
Also dash board is easily among the best put together ones.

Subaru All Wheel Drive is not as capable as it used to be before being paired with the CTV. The engine power is now cut to the CTV when the tires slip. This makes the car less capable off road and in deep snow and slush. I am also worried about the longevity of the CTV because in my experience with my 2014 Forester the car smells awful after being driven in deep snow and slush. Is the CTV oil burning? I think so.

I'm not too crazy about CVTs. Like many other consumers who have driven cars with CVTs, there are still concerns with its reliability. Hopefully, Subaru has addressed those concerns with this new generation. On the positive side, the fifth generation looks amazing inside and out and is definitely a huge contender with other major mid-size SUVs namely Honda's CRV, Toyota's RAV4, Mazda's CX5 to name a few.

Does the CVT whine? I guess it's too early to tell if the gaskets blow out, wait until 80 thou km. Subaru are a great car for a short play and to burn some cash.

Where is the X-Break/Sport variant that is available in the Japanese and USA market?
Also I hope the bring back the Turbo model when Mazda releases their Turbo CX-5.

No manual, No turbo, No diesel, No thanks.

Boxer engines tend to consume more oil and 2.5 engines has a bad reputation of damaged gaskets

Is the CVT gear simulated (stepped) like the Outback?

The outgoing model looks better. All Asian cars are getting a very busy design these days. It's as if they share the same designer. Boring.

Why it still doesn't have parktronics? Why there are no hood dumpers? Is there an option for Qi wireless charger? C'mon Subaru, It's 21st century! This SUV is obviously stuck in 20th..

Your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.

Just get on with it Subaru. It is no shame. Mazda, Hyundai and Toyota have already gone down the same path of VW/Audi with the exterior styling and even the interior.

When Subaru kills the Forester and making it a stupid car removing turbo lol this car has no match to All new Rav 4, CR-V and etc

So this thing is now a dog. Subaru makes some of the slowest cars now that they killed the 3.6L. Looks frumpy. Love that Subaru uses the driver monitoring camera, to make a profit by selling the collected data to your insurance company. Profit on top of profit.
