Explore how wind turbines convert wind into electricity, and the challenges of powering the world entirely with wind energy.

--

Every 24 hours, wind generates enough kinetic energy to produce roughly 35 times more electricity than humanity uses each day. And unlike coal or oil, this resource is totally renewed each day. So how can we harness this incredible amount of energy, and is it possible to create a world powered entirely by wind? Rebecca Barthelmie and Sara Pryor dig into the science of wind turbine technology.

Lesson by Rebecca J. Barthelmie & Sara C. Pryor, directed by Gavin Edwards, Movult.

The biggest thing I took away from this is that American homes consume twice as much electricity as European homes 😳. That's insane

How do people think that wind turbines ruin scenery? I find them quite beautiful

"Some people feel turbines disrupt natural sceneries"
I'd rather have clean energy and deal with turbines in my view than a dying planet with a clear view

Just rename these things *"Freedom Fans"* and America will be completely running on clean energy by the weekend

Edit: Guys, it was a god damm joke

Between the animation and the soothing narration, this video makes it easy to un-wind. Learning becomes a breeze which makes me watch from this channel with gust-o.

Reminds me of my road trip out west 10 1/2 years ago. You would be out on the road, and up on the side of the road, and you would see a huge wind farm. My family took lots of pictures, because this isn't something we were used to seeing on the East Coast.

We have wind turbines in some provinces here in the Philippines. So far, they have been used to create natural energy. Thank you for this video.
