Hercules 12V Tools (Impact - Drill - Screwdriver) - It was only a matter of time (I mean the 20V charger actually says "& 12V" on it). These just hit the website and should be on store shelves any day but Harbor Freight was nice enough to provide me a pre-release set so you can see them in action here first.

All Hercules tools were given to me by Harbor Freight. There was no other compensation and this is not a paid review.

I gotta say, Red, I was impressed with the power for a little 12v drill. I do mostly small woodcraft projects, and don't need brute power like the construction guys. These seem like a good future option for me, especially given how inexpensive the batteries are.

I have severe arthritis. The Hercules screwdriver handle is smaller than other such tools, fits my hand better than any other brand.

I am curious how they compare to the new skil 12v tools.

They do fit well in the hand but I’ve already gone through two Hercules crapping out. Luckily harbor freight does honor returns

Yeah, Milwaukee m12 is the route I take. Thanks for what you do.

I use a Mikita 12v impact and drill for everything (have had it for 5 years). With the drill, I find it under powered all the time with spade bits and drilling pilot holes for 1/4” lag screws. I very rarely find the impact underpowered. I was impressed with how well the Hercules handled that big spade. I doubt my Makita could do that.

I would get them if they were cheaper but for the price I rather have Makita or Milwaukee.

I actually got my own paws on them last weekend at a nearby HF. They feel really solid, but super lightweight, which I really like. I don't need another drill or impact, but if I see a good enough coupon over time...maybe in the $70s range....I'd probably consider one just to mess with it and see what it does.

Being a Hercules fan, and having 4 pieces of Milwaukee m12 stuff, I wanted to see how these herc 12v did. I talked the tool control person at work into getting a herc 12v drill, when the Milwaukee m18 one stopped changing directions. He got it, felt nice. Couple days later some HVAC engineers came to his office to build a box over his air vent. One asked for a drill and laughed and made a snid comment when he was handed the herc 12v. When he was done using it, as he handed it back he said, " that's a really nice drill". Like I said having m12 drill and impact, the herc 12v feels great and so balanced. I'm sure I will get a pair when they go on a sale, whether I need a 4th drill and 3rd impact or not.

Can it handle drilling out screws? My rotor screws are rusted in. Thanks

They look good, but they definitely need to drop the price! Also they seem a little redundant in the lineup, other than the 1/4" chuck screwdriver.

I think if they were going to develop a 12v they should have done more work sooner on the earthquake system. It would be nice to have a 1/4" and 3/8" drive ratchets, an impact, and screwdriver that all use the same 12v batteries. They have the new 12v polisher, so maybe they have plans for those.

Mr. Bear, please do a review comparing the HF screw guns with name brand ones by screwing 3" screws into hardwood until the drill quits. Any drill can last to screw in 5 screws into soft pine. Lets see if it can do 50, 100, 200+ screws before it dies.

12v and 20v we need a bundle 2 tools 2 batteries a charger and a bag, close to competitors price. Also if they want to sell these a lot they need to get them out there. Maybe a 1 free trial guarantee just like the saw, that would build this brand and get the word out.
