Don’t forget it wasn’t just modesty! It was also sun protection!

Bro even the 18th century girlies got bigger pockets than us 😭

Friendly reminder that there’s nothing stopping you from wearing a tie on pocket in 2024. Made myself one as a quarantine project embroidering flowers all over it and it’s gorgeous I wear it with outfits that don’t have pockets and get lots of compliments and questions which makes me really excited because that means I get to tell people about historical fashion.

When I was little, I loved the American Girl books, and this dress reminds me of Felicity's blue Christmas dress

So random but I had a felicity American girl doll when I was a kid and it's so fun to see a life size version of all my old doll clothes!

Just started seeing your videos. I am so impressed! I envy your abilities and dedication. The clothes are so beautiful and as far as I know historically rendered. Keep going!

Ugh I absolutely love this. To spend one day in this era would be just jaw dropping to see.

Honestly, this looks pretty comfy and stylish. Especially the pocket.

I love when I have a dress with a pocket! It’s delightful to know in all the history of women…they did too! ❤

Never knew that the slit in the petticoat was supposed to be on the side in order to access the pocket. Good to know.👍🏾

Gosh I struggle with a button down and a cardigan, I’d never be able to leave the house

I love that there is an option to a corset. A shoulder injury prevents me from reaching behind myself to tie them. Now I'll be looking for tutorials on these.

This is giving me memories because I once made a 1860's ballgown for a school project...SO MANY LAYERS, IT KILLED ME AND EXPLANATIONS TOOK LIKE 15 MINUTES--I GOT A B+ ON IT TOO ;-;

All this time I been trying so hard to loose weight, and thin people been jealous of my lovely rump. 😂

The stays were also protecting the hips in winter when you would wear 4 or more wool or quilted petty coats for warmth. That's a lot of weight tied on and would dig into the skin painfully.
Also it was for bust support as well. Worked significantly better then modern bras

I always wondered how they made that duck butt... So basically it's a pillow above the butt...
Very handy if you want to go camping spontaneously. You already got enough fabric for a tent. And the pillow is extra comfort for camping 😄🙃

I really thought to my self “ ohhh so the pocket is to put your phone in?”

Bustle can double as a life jacket for those trips to the ⛱ beach!
