My friends grandma was acting like this for months saying ppl were fallowing her and watching the house and going through her mail and tapping the phones her kids kept telling her she was just being paranoid until one night her son came over unexpected afterdark and found two guys going through the garbage cans beside the house the very quickly identified them selves as law enforcement and they had a warrant well turns out grandma was being watched cause she had been sending money to one of her nephews in Pakistan who had ties to some shady stuff. Used this till the day she died as her ace in the hole when ever she had shut down an argument.

It's tragic to learn how widespread this is. I've only seen one example with our clients, but he was a man who was an acclaimed classically trained chef who became convinced that people were putting substances in his shower water that would make him black out if he left his apartment. Last I heard, he had to return to another state to live with his parents because he couldn't be trusted to take care of himself. I hope he's okay.

I once was accused of something like this; absolutely terrifying to be accused of spying on someone and updating others on their behaviours, while being unable to convince them otherwise.

A local woman is very much like this. I've had a few conversations with her. Had seen her in tears at doctors. Howling because of a blood test that she had just done. She was convinced that she had a microchip planted in her, during the blood withdral. It took me about 20 minutes to calm her down. Only because she knew me quite well. She no longer talks to me, because I had been recruited by the government as well. You simply cannot help them.

If these are delusions from us TIs why is there currently class action lawsuits against the government from the group targeted Justice?

I live near a dude who firmly believes the government is after him. He would text people in the middle of the night saying things like, "They're following me.."

My brother was a paranoid schizophrenic, he never hurt anyone but the damage it did to his psyche was heartbreaking. At various times police, government and the neighbor's cows were stalking him

There was a podcast series put out by the CBC where a woman discussed how her childhood was taken over by her stepfather/mother's delusions that were similar to Targeted Individuals. A lot of moving around the country in the dead of night and cutting ties because "they" were after the family and safety was priority. Eventually the family was supposed to enter "the facility" to do work against "them", but obviously it never happened. It was so extremely thorough but so sad.
