i love the fact that these talented singers are trying their luck with SM cus they know they could improve and utilise their vocal ability to the fullest with SM with healthy techniques. we know that some SM artists were alrdy great before joining SM but fr SM vocal coaches are great at maintaining and taking care of the artists voices. like being in SM is the only way for you to improve vocally other than self-dedication to find vocal lessons outside the company.

I'm still proud that SM is still focusing on finding good singers. Yeah SM still is not great in managing their artists unfortunately, and still has a lot to learn, really sad, but it's still great to see they are giving chances to real singers because right now it looks like the majority of companies are focusing only on looks, and everything else but singing!

They probably wouldn't care about her weight bc she's skinny enough she could lose the weight to be idol skinny. Let's face it, companies force crazy diets all the time. Its way easier to make a young girl starve herself than teach an already thin girl how to sing. I don't agree with it but we gotta face reality. These companies do it all the time, hell if we wanna talk SM specifically watch the video where Red Velvet members were terrified to eat ice cream on camera and Tayeon had to yell at staff to let them eat.

They can always make you starve later, so being healthy looking doesn’t matter much

1. Cant be too ugly, imperfections can be rectified with surgery and diet/exercise. Visual is the most important, besides family background(yes they will favour you if your family has money)
2. Bare minimum ability to hit some notes in singing. Most of the time you will be autotuned and performing on stage its gona be back up vocals
3. Have light skin, the lighter the better, think vampire, skin that doesn’t see the sun like at all.
4. Most important of all. Mental fortitude and also stamina. You will be subjected to grueling and intense training if you get the opportunity.
