How to make Water Pie? Depression Era recipe

Water Pie

Time for a pie that was popular in the Great Depression era. Thanks Diane for this fun suggestion.

* 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked
* 1 1/2 cups water
* 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1 cup sugar
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 5 tablespoons butter, cut into 5 pieces

I've heard of water pie but never had it. Cowcohol 🤣🐄 I would love to go to this creamery. When my son was in Kindergarten he had a field trip to a farm here and I went as a chaperone. He and the other kids got to milk a cow.
