I was staying the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, years ago... I had just stepped outside the hotel, standing there trying to decide where to go eat. As I was standing there, David Carradine walks out of the hotel (he was there for a charity luncheon of some kind)... He was stepping out for a smoke and asked me for a light. I lit his cigarette and we talked while he smoked. I was there on tour with a latin rock band (I was just the sound guy), he was more interested in what we were up to, than being there for that event. He was a really nice guy.

I remember him in 80s mini series North & South. He played a great villain in that series.

I was sad to hear of his passing. In saw him at the circus with his family. Many people in attendance recognized David, he was kind and humble and was being a typical grandpa buying the kids everything they saw😂😂😂 it was cute.

He was also a bad gambler. It is said in one of many rumors that he couldn't pay his debt so he was killed and it was made to look like a accident.

"Patience, young grasshopper”. That famous line came from the 1970’s TV show, Kung Fu. David Carridine played the role of Kwai Chang Caine, a half American, half Chinese character in the old west, who had been trained as a Shaolin monk in China. The show featured flashbacks to his early training where he was called “ Grasshopper” by his master, Master Po, in the episode. Master Po used the term "patience, young grasshopper" to teach Caine the virtues of patience. He was a fine martial artist and a very cool guy! ❤

David's father was a big part of the golden years of Hollywood and then David carried on the family tradition of making good content and showcasing his acting skills which entertained us all over the years. I'm sorry he died the way he did but that doesn't negate the great body of work that he produced over his lifetime. RIP David.
