They really glassed over a key piece of info one of them said, "be aware of your surroundings". Knowing your neighborhood, knowing the weak points of your security and keeping a watchful eye out is half the battle. I took a CCW course back in college and half the course was about the mind of criminals and how to avoid situations where you may need your firearm. Being aware and making things harder for the criminals will stop 90% of theft.
