Welcome to another new video of our channel. Thank you so much to all our subscribers and all those that chose our videos to learn.

In today’s video we will learn about “The Right Way To Pass Another Vehicle”

When we are talking about passing another vehicle, we must be aware of other vehicles around you and the type of road you’re on. Mainly when we are talking about passing another vehicle, it should always be on the left road.

When we want to pass a vehicle but we are on a lane that has incoming opposite traffic (which you will know because it’s divided by discontinuous dashed yellow lines) well in this case you’ll have to use the opposite lane and cross when no traffic is coming.

On our previous videos we have learned about road lanes, and lines. We learned that double yellow solid continuous lines as these, are the ones that tells us it’s prohibit to change lanes and pass another vehicle.

Now back to passing another vehicle, first thing you must keep in mind is the distance among your vehicle and the other vehicle. Calculating the speed of the other vehicles as well as your own speed is really important in order to pass the other vehicle safely and successfully. Regardless the lines, you need to learn the following tips.

- [ ] When you want to change lanes and need to pass another vehicle and you have potential incoming traffic coming from the opposite direction, then you will need to speed up in order to quickly get on the other lane and pass the vehicle in front of you. You must maintain eyes at all times in front of you as well as behind.

The Distance is one of the most essential things to keep in mind when passing another vehicle. You need to make sure you’re safe first before proceeding.

Speed is another important factor to keep in mind, you can’t be for too long on the other lane, last thing you want is to run into incoming traffic from he opposite side. So, right way of doing it would be keeping your distance within its limits and make sure no other cars are too close. Calculate not only your distance but also the distance of the car infant of you, so that way you can have a clear idea. You will always needs to drive fast than the car you’ll want to pass.

Surroundings and awareness would be the other factor I would highly recommend you guys keep in mind. Its important to look around and make sure everything is calm and safe in order to change lanes and pass the other vehicle.

Another factor is never forget to turn on your signaling lights to let the other vehicle know what you’re doing.

Now final tip is knowing when is the appropriate safe time to change lanes…
Ok so when you’re already on the other lane, you’re next goal once you have calculated your distance, is to look at the lateral mirror to see your vehicle. Once you are able to see all lights of the vehicle behind you then you can safely change lanes quickly.

I honestly recommend you all to please practice, i can’t stress this enough. New drivers need to relax, feel confident behind the wheel slowly and practice in areas where there isn’t much traffic.

Well guys, hope this video was indeed helpful. Make sure you guys subscribe to this channel for more educational videos as these for those new drivers out there.

Some people take it personally when you pass or overtake them. I've had many people speed up in an attempt to not allow me to pass and if that happens I recommend just staying a safe distance behind them. Any state I've been in you are still subject to the speed limits while passing. I got a warning for going ten over while passing but could have easily gotten a ticket.

Yeah, none of this means anything to Texas drivers. I don't UNDERSTAND why people pull into someone's lane when they are trying to pass! I see this every time I drive on the road. I live in far North Dallas area. Dallas has the worst drivers in the country. People ALWAYS pull in front of me and start blocking my way! People ALWAYS hog the left lane driving slow. All of them intentionally drive slow in the left lane and don't use it correctly, and if try to pass, they get upset and start slowing down. NO ONE uses the left lane correctly in Texas. People ALWAYS pull in front of me from another street doing 5mph when I am driving 40mph. It's like people see you coming behind and they decide to pull into your lane out of fear or stupidity. All of these situations are very dangerous.
