How To Install A Downspout Strap

We use small color matched #6 by 3/8 of an inch screws to secure the straps. 1 screw on each side of the decorative strap looks neatest, just make sure the strap is tight before securing.

Almost what I was looking for... can you show us how a commercial installer uses the strap and fold technique to make strapping super tight? It's an awesome technique that uses an overlap and fold at the corner to draw the strap super tight. NO SCREWS into the downspout at all. I saw someone do this for square commercial downspouts a long time ago. Pretty amazing technique.. Thanks.

We had new vinyl siding installed and our installers didn't reattach the downspout strap correctly and also didn't secure downspouts correctly to the straps. One of the downspout fall out during the heavy rain. I just want to say Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks!

You could have skipped a step in attaching the strap behind the downspout. And as far as the decorative strap, those are meant to be wrapped around the downspout.

I can't find the rowal or plug part anywhere. I have also looked under Anchor, Expansion Anchor, and Drive pin. Where can a normal person buy this part????
