Keep your bike in great shape with our checklist of mountain bike maintenance essentials.

If you ride your mountain bike regularly, you'll also need to maintain it regularly. The fact is that a well-maintained, slightly cheaper bike will feel much nicer than a poorly-maintained, more expensive bike. So, it;s safe to say that, whatever bike you ride, you will get more from it if you take the time to look after it.

The rear derailleur is also a part that needs to be checked once in a while (and also cable tension). Poor shifting is the worst thing during the rides...

Great video, thanks! Would appreciate some more info on how to determine exactly when is it time to replace the tires.

I would also add this, I think it's very important:
Check if your wheels are true. True and straight wheels = strong, long lasting wheels, and if you notice that your wheels start to wobble, fix that before its too late.

you swap you shifting cables every 20 - 40 rides? so that's like a few times a year? 😅 gotta be expensive over some time ain't it? never swapped any of the cables on my old bike and didn't really have to and used it for a couple of years 🤷‍♂️

Don't put WD40 on a chain ever. Just use soap to clean it, then dry it thoroughly and apply chain oil.

Also, after applying chain oil you should turn the pedals back for a while and then wipe off all the excess. Any oil on the surface will only make your chain dirtier.

I have this bike and the pivot points at the bottom bracket are a pain to get out, I could only loosen them but not remove completely. I did follow your video of the e thirteen chain guide to strip it down and take the crank out so cheers. A video of maintenance on the GT i-drive system would be amazing. Cheers

The way I clean my chain: using park tool chain cleaning device, poor some engine cleaner/degreaser and spin it for a minute. Then do same with moc-off cleaning solution. Bounce bike few times to shake excess off. Wipe chain with dry rag. Apply wd-40 to chain and spin few times. Wipe it dry and put bike away to dry. Apply wet/dry chain lube before ride.

My back wheel has some sort of vibrations/rubbing feeling when I flip it upside down and spin it. It's a 2 month old hardtail but I ride really aggressive both on street and on trail. I know for sure that it doesn't make contact with the brakes nor any other part of the bike. Could it be the bearings or anything worse? Any reply is appreciated

Thank you for a great video.
I have a question and can't find the answer on My bike's (mountain bike) front wheel pulls to the left, do you have an idea why and how I can fix it myself?

Can you make a video about what kinds of lube are good to use on your fork and shock? I wanted to get Fork Juice but unfortunately they don't ship it to where I live. Also a while back Marc said (in a Dirt Shed Show video) there is going to be a video about Schwalbe's ProCore, but that never came out. :) Great video as always. Thanks.
