As a mechanic now I can say that much of my initial experience that got me into my job came from you guys. These skills are quintessential to 70% of what’s going on on your bike. Although I do these sort of things about 40 times on a given day, these videos are fantastic and super educational, and I wouldn’t second guess recommending them to a beginner. Cheers Guys!

I’m 60 years old now, and doing more cycling through lockdown. One of my lads is out too on either my road or mountain bike - thus increased wear and tear!
Aged 12 I could strip down a bike, now I’ve forgotten much I knew then, and also bikes are more complex.
These videos are an excellent way of helping solve various problems as they arise, so many thanks for your clarity, technical competence and professionalism!

This is indeed, something important to know. Life WOULD be hard without GMBN. Just like the shifting, in the end, this video was bang- on precise!

It would be worth mentioning that if you cross the chain, you snap it. I had the "chance" to rebuild my 3x9 drive train a few months ago, after breaking the rear mech hanger. Originally, the ninth gear was not working properly, because the mech cable was just freaking loose and the bike shop which I bought the bike from, had apparently no clue. Now, my 12 years old rig works better than brand new. This video is a confirmation that I did a great job. Thank you guys !

Hi, quick tip. I was having heaps of shifting problems after descents and on steep climbs but was perfect on the road. Turns out it I hadn’t tightened the quick release leaver sufficiently and the braking and high chain tension was pulling the wheel slightly out of the dropout. Tightened now + a bit of lock tight between the frame and quick release, to be sure. Also best to do your final adjustment on a nice bumpy field. My 1x 12 seems to go out of adjustment every week. Exactly the same bike with a 3x9 every 1 to 3 months!

This is great video. Just started cycling and I fell off and the derailleur bent. This video is so well put together. Much appreciated.

also check your rear hanger and rear derailleur are not bent or damaged as this can mess your gears up too especially after a crash :-)

Explained very well. I didn't even have to watch the full video. By about half way through i got up and finally fixed my gears. Ive watched many utube vids and tried many times to get my gears right but everyone over complicates it. So far I had done more damage than good, but just now i fixed them in 5 min! Thanks buddy.

Just wanted to say thanks. Just saved myself $120.00 or so. After following your tips I just got back from a ride and I don't remember when my gears changed so smoothly. Thanks again and keep posting. Dan

@gmbntech Great vid! Fiddling with the gears is always something I've avoided. Extremely well explained leaving me feeling confident to try, particularly during this lockdown. I have two twin up fronts which are both out of tune with some of the gear clicks. I will try with my hybrid/ commuter first and if successful, then attempt on my 2018 Scott 710. Cheers Doddy. Lovely job 👍🏼
