I can understand that to some degree but that can only take you so far. Remember to have a heart too. Don't be too focused on being self centered or too ambitious with your career/job. Let loose a bit, relax, go visit a family member, spend time with your spouse, church, vacation, etc. Just know that everyone is not heading towards a worldly life, some people want a more spiritual life.

I find it quite difficult to be the genuine me. I have lived this way all my life so I find it quite difficult to be 'me'.

My coworker is a self declared "asshole" who lives for herself. As a teacher and Christian, I totally disagree with her philosophy. She wonders why nobody likes her and she has such issues in the district, and I have it "easy". Go figure...
