What about high pressure bonding or explosion bonding. Definitely not "traditional" welding but it does join aluminum to copper.

If memory serves me well, bi-metal Aluminum-Copper electrical plugs and cable lugs are welded using high pressure friction welding and sometimes laser welding. I have never heard of bi-metal arc welding.

What if i want to bond a valve to a large 50l aluminium pot, i drill the hole and ideally only bond a tube with thread on both ends to it. Which material would you suggest (for the tube and what is used as the component) is best suited? taking into account it has to be safe for cooking. Thanks
