i love how honest and realistic you are. i train in multiple martial arts as well and, to understand how to incorporate a style on to another, i think really enhances your understanding of a particular style. i really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

... As a practitioner of Wing Chun that graduated to JKD ...I see the point people try to make aboit "GET A REAL BOXER OR MMA GUY", However you've got to admit every art provides you with tools to put in your tool box. Certain arts are Kick Based....(usefull).Others are ground are weapons based...(usefull) So the more tools you have in your tool box ultimately help you SURVIVE in hostile situations... With that said, If a untrained guy pokes a Trained MMA fighter in the eye during a scrap...It could potentially be the beginning of the end...lol... So yes I understand what you mean. I've worked numerous night clubs as well as been a professional bodyguard for years... I understand real fighting as opposed to Two guys in an controlled environment. Thank You Master Wong for answering my question (Indirectly) about diffrrent fighting styles ... I think there is an opportunity to Learn something from Every Practitioner. ..You learn, "What to do...or What not to do"..Either way...I try to learn what suits me and allows for me to get home safe and un harmed.

Thank you for your explaination of the efficience of the taiji. So many people think that taiji is just a esoteric gym and is no efficience in real fight. Thank you for your job.

Nice upload, osu! I agree,   It's never a style that makes the person.  It's the person that makes the style.  How much understanding, discipline, consistency, mind, body and spirit determines the outcome.  A style shows you the forms, movements, techniques.  The style by itself is useless until a person embraces it and makes it there own.

I have been a martial artist all my life . I used to teach random students of the art until a student almost killed a 15 year old, now I only teach family . I have studied since the age of four . as an adult I spent many years in prison, where my skill grew and grew .many boxers slash street fighters tried and failed to take tittle, I have for the last 30 years been perfecting my wu shu, taught to me by an x navy seal who learned it while he was stationed in china for 15 years .I can beat most martial artist I know with little effort  at all, and normal street fighters and boxers are laughable .I have had real world experience in the worst and most violent of places surviving  undefeated . yet I would not wish to fight you, YOU ARE THE ONLY TRUE MASTER ON YOUTUBE, YOUR STUDENTS ARE TRULY FORTUNATE .pay no attention to the negative comments, you and I both know who we are . everyday I must tolerate people who don't know who or what I am . we have a responsibility to protect the weak and to strengthen their minds and bodies .thank you for showing me I'm not the only one out there

Awesome video again you speak the truth and talk about real fighting, making students aware of what they have to learn and understand about themselves, their art and the opponents art they are facing. I'm well impressed with this channel and your vision on fighting skills and understanding truth will definitely prepare one for the unexpected.  Awesome Master

Master Wong, thank you for these great videos! Could you make a video on how to defence yourself against big opponent, not necessarily athletic but with more weight and height.

So much respect to you sir. Very informative and also makes a lot of sense. It is very much the person who controls the outcome, not the martial art.

I personally wish to see the use of stance transitions as a means of toppling an oponent just by locking their foot with yours and using the shin across theirs to apply pressure to the knee joint. I have used this mephod effectively on far heavier ppl in the past but would like to see if master wong with his able bodied training aide can offer me some new ideas for entering and other possible angles/positions in might be used from. Also i'd like to see more footwork drills to crush attacks by closing position so as to cause loss of balance or prevent a heavy wind up as you literally invade their space as a solid right angle right through their center leaving them no space to fire. An then quide them over with your knees. By alternating to oposite bow arrow stance with your knees within the gate of theirs. Using the now rising knee to lift their front knee n push the foot forward forcing them to lose balance n follow the foot. Or just to horse riding, lifting the body on thighs then forward double palm attack to dislodge.

Thank you!
This is so much better than all the videos where a proponent of one style is trying to prove how his style is superior to some random other style, against a really lame opponent. (This also goes for the videos about wing chun vs boxing.) Can we also get some credit to the guy (good sport) who does boxing with you?
I've thought before about how much of style-vs-style is getting the opponent to fight in a way that suits you. If a boxer fights a wrestler, he wants the fight to be standup and dancing around, while the wrestler wants to take it to the ground, it sound obvious, but in a lot of matches I've seen both fighters seem to go at it in a way that suits one of them much better. Even within one style you can see this, for instance: two boxers with different strengths where one wants the fight to be clean and technical and the other wants the fight to be close and messy, and then they both end up trying to fight close and messy, or vice versa. Do you have any thoughts about how this happens?
