What amazes me is that you not only are peddling this bullshit, but you actually seem to believe in it! Viewers: don't worry, no taijiquan was seen in this video.

This guy cracks me up. A Mike Tyson in his prime....equals a rough day for a one dimensional look at boxing. Boxing has proven to be one of the best if not the best combat form for use of your fists. Just a decent boxer knows a multitude of different striking angles and variations of punches. A perfect blend of speed and power. Not to mention conditioning and footwork. I'd like to see his martial art in action. Boxing is a tried and true tested combat form. It is used in competitive fighting sports against other martial arts that are highly effective in full combat mixed martial arts. I view mixed martial arts as the opportunity for martial artists of all styles to test the effectiveness of said martial art. Most things are legal save ball shots head butts and pointed elbow strikes to the head. However I find the sport ironically lacking in Kung fu and Tai Chi and other similar martial arts hmmm

What a saddo. As a boxer I'd love to see this dude go a few rounds testing his real reaction times not mock up to make him feel cool.

Your really making boxing look bad by using a guy who doesn't box and claiming that your defenses will work against boxing when he is throwing haymakers, and not straights or hooks.

Hey Jake, I understand what you're saying in the video but as a boxer and a kickboxer punches such as the jab and the cross can also be a lot more straight and come straight down the center. Then only time the may be as wide as you guys demonstrated would be if some one was throwing a hook. So basically what Im getting to is can you use this form for straighter punches such as a jab or is there another Tai Chi move for those more straighter down center punches? Thank you and please answer soon. I'm on a journey to be a great martial artist and learn as many as I can.

never been one to like boxing, but there is more to it than just jab and cross. It's not about what martial arts you practice but the practitioners spirit and strength.

a lot of haters here, but none of them link to the loud mouths kicking any ass. i am a master of the key board fu. i have been unable to walk after a back injury for more than 8 years. this was the second injury less than a month after a surgery. i got a inversion table found a web site on how to use it(after 5 years of not using it properly or regularly) and in less than a month i dont need a walker anymore. now im in my 40's trying to get my strength back. walking and your tai chi beginner videos will be what im using for now. ill let you know how im doing in 6 mos. thanks for the beginner videos jake. keep on keeping on.

Why are you blocking with your wrists? You're going to break them, if someone doesn't stop their blow halfway through, as your friend here did. You're supposed to block with your forearm. That's in a vast handful of styles, not just Tai Chi.
