Kudos to William for mentioning positives about Goggins when Crenshaw criticized without knowing much about him. Goggins message from his book, is about recognition that he had the power to change his life. He was dealt a bad hand, some of us are and some of us aren’t but at a point in his life he said enough is enough I need to change myself and he did. Being a Navy Seal was part of the journey.

I’ve read gifted book and gifted copies to several friends. He has a large audience because there is a huge need and desire to “associate” and be inspired by someone who will show you his failures and how he kept getting up despite the setbacks in life.

Think of it this way. Professional athletes used to be glorified for being large than life in their ability to play professional sports. Then they signed multimillion dollar deals but complained that the didn’t want to be on a losing team. Now here is Goggins, who, in his book, points out that he couldn’t read, or write, had a stammer (studded) care more about being a clown in school, failed often and got morbidly obese. He acknowledges that when he tried to get in shape the first time he quit. He cried. He thought he couldn’t do it. Then he tried again…and again….and again…until he achieved his goal.

Was he a war hero? Nope. Doesn’t need to be one either. His message is for the everyday man and woman to say look in the mirror, hold yourself accountable make a plan and get to where you deserve to be by putting in the work. Along the way guess what? You’re going to have more setbacks because that’s life, just like he has in his book. But you keep overcoming them and learn more about yourself along the way..

FYI, he does to several athletic engagements with people where his workout are push-ups, jumping jacks, sit-ups, burpees etc. you should be able to find them on YouTube.

he did 2 deployments one to guam then Iraq thats how he got the CAR he also raised a ton of money for special ops warrior foundation. the thing thats great about his book are the challenges he puts in there they are so helpful to unlock true potential.

Talking about Goggins doing more for the community when he has dedicated his life to sending the children of dead operators to college for 4 year degrees 100% paid for…. Tuition, books, room and board, food, weekly allowance. In his first year of doing ultramarathons, his charity sent and completely paid for 266 students. He is on the front lines for Veterans support and aftercare. Guys gave their life for their country and teammate’s and David had dedicated his life to making sure those soldiers kids have the best shot in life to being successful. David’s entire brand is exactly he said taking people out of their comfort zone, but not even that, is to inspire and motivate entire generations to pushing themselves past these invisible barriers they have set up for themselves and achieving goals and dreams that they never thought possible. The man can only do so much and he gives you the tools and anything else is in our hands to use those tools or not.

Wow the passive aggressive hate and envy…. You’ll never find a hater doing better than you…. David Goggins, the world knows him and his story, and I believe the reason why so many in the SF community hate him and envy him is because Goggins life story has had a positive impact on millions on people, and the highlight of his life, it’s not just his military career, being a seal is something he did, it’s not the highest point of his life, the peak or the only thing he constantly talks about…. So many of these guys will only talk about “there I was, I did, I this, I that, I’m a bad ass, you could never do what I did, you couldn’t survive what I survived, everyone one of them writes a book about their years being a one man army…. Goggins life story before and after his military service is beyond humbling, and inspiring, but the hate and the pride doesn’t let these guys admit to it… Most of them talk about their military victories, because in every other aspect of life, they’ve lost….. sad… sad….

David Goggins isn't really known for his War Exploits due to him having Heart Surgery and kept out of the fight for 4 years.

Which is perfectly fine. He had a Medical Issue and wasn't able to Deploy more than a couple of times.

What he has done outside of the Military is when it gets really impressive.

David Goggins has always been honest about everything and never claimed to be some War Hero.

He does have the Honor to call himself a Navy Seal and Ranger Qualified
