Lots of info guys. Thank you. I got my insurance with him. I have been to the doctor and all has been good. No copay at all. I still go to the front desk to ask if I need to do anything else when I finish the appointment ( thinking about the copay or whatever money I pay in the states). Habits die hard. I got his info from you guys. Thanks again. ❤️💃🏻🇺🇸🇪🇸

So I heard that basic treatment consultations and checkups, if your pre-existing condition is approved, are covered. More extensive treatment would be reviewed.

Clear as mud, and I listened 3 times.

This is kind of misleading. People need to contact and compare different companies and make sure you sign up for a policy that is compliant for the purposes of obtaining a visa. Some people pay a much higher cost to get coverage of preexisting conditions (high cholesterol, for example). You should disclose your conditions and they will decide if they will cover it. They may give you a policy but exclude the condition which means you would have to pay out of pocket to be seen for that condition. For example, I have a chronic condition from an injury that does not require any treatment at this time and may never require treatment. It was excluded. But I got a policy that is compliant to satisfy the Visa requirement.

I'm 77 and my wife is 74. Can we get private health insurance for Spain?

What about leukemia survivors. 5 years cancer free 5 years post diagnosis and 5 years post treatment. Diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia, 5 years cancer free no current treatments. Treatment concluded in 2020. Check up or 1 CBC blood test yearly for surveillance.

Ha! In other words, TBD. If you have a pre-existing condition like COPD, Spanish private insurance will not insure you and will cancel your policy.
