Having worked on the pharmaceutical side of things i agree 100%. Its INSANE the amount of horror stories i have about insurance companies where they put their own profits over even just basic care. Doctors take an oath to "do no harm". It an empathic oath that reaffirms to them that their primary job is the care for people. Insurance companies are actively doing the opposite. Its like we as a society realized a long time ago doctors are about helping people get better, but then turn a blind eye to other industries hell bent on disrupting this.

Medicare for all is truly American. Americans should be proud to support it, because we don't let our brothers and sisters die when it's not their time to go. We're all in this life together, and this is how we show that we are strong & willing to help each other. Let's figure out how to make it work. We have the money, and it's WORTH IT!

I worked for BCBS I was there man, talking to these doctors, nurses and MAs. To describe it as a nightmare is an understatement. My employer purposely set up a billion hoops in the hope that these providers would just get fed up and leave on their own. Some of these providers and staff would purposely skip lunch or take overtime just to get stuff done.

As one of the people that doctors and clinicians have to go through to provide healthcare to patients, I can't tell you how frustrating it is to feel like we have to fight healthcare providers over the same complaint. The for-profit healthcare industry is costing us time, money, and lives for the benefit of a few wealthy individuals.


This video definitely made me think differently about what it must be like to sit in the hospital trying to get people in and out, and healthy but there's this huge wall of things they can and can't do simply because of dollars and cents. The United States of America has almost unlimited sums of money to spend on programs to benefit the poor and middle class, and the planet, and the human race. We are not running out of dollars any faster than an architect is running out of inches.



We can make this world better for everyone at the expense of no one, and we can start by supporting politicians who believe in that too. This is why I'm voting for Bernie Sanders.

A big part of why we pay so much more for poorer health care than other developed nations is that we're paying for the ER visits and medications of folks who don't have health insurance and who end up in serious trouble because their health issues were not caught by routine screenings. Also, we pay for free clinics and for those folks who, out of desperation, go to faith healers and other charlatans, rather than seeing a doctor, and who end up with more serious problems. Someone has to pay for that - us. We pay more in TAXES for healthcare than people Canada, the UK or Germany, and they get healthcare for that money. We don't. If we want to see a doctor, those taxes we pay don't cut it - if we want care, we have to pay a bloodsucking insurance company, and we have to pay co-pays on top of that. Canadians pay taxes, and it's all covered, end of story: no co-pays, no insurance, no charge at all at the point of service or afterwards. Same in England.
