PLEASE NOTE: you may need to set a key binding for your Air / Speed Brakes in the Control Settings - search for "Spoiler" and then assign a key - I use "/" on the numpad.
In this beginners guide tutorial I show you how to do a Case 1 (Daytime Clear Visuals) Catapult Launch and Arrestor Cable Recover Landing using the IndiaFoxtEcho F-35C Lightning II on a US Navy Carrier from LVFR'sAircraft Carrier Global Pack, all in Microsodt Flight Simulator 2020.
I'm doing this on my PC with an Xbox Controller - but you can do exactly the same if you plug a USB keyboard and mouse into an Xbox Series X / S.
The important controls to know are in the cockpit - lowering the launch bar, lowering the tail hook and "calling the ball" and using the "/" key on your numpad to engage your Air / Speed Brake so that you can slow down enough to around 150 knots so you don't bounce off the deck!
Thanks, Rob.

Nice. Thanks. I just purchased the 35 and the p-51 two days ago...taking them out for a fly today to test them out. And you know...since some of us are amassing a collection of aircraft...wouldn't it be nice is someone would create a mod where you could display all your owned aircraft next to, or inside, your own personal hanger. I'd buy that...smiles.

Im glad you posted this video I have been struggling with the landings, I didn't know you needed to hit the P brake at end of the landing, I have been running off the deck every time, thanks for the info good video!!!

And really...how can anyone do a good job in MSFS with a controller? I can't imagine trying to fly without a joystick and pedals, eh? And I must Brag...I have the Warthog setup. My first joystick setup was a Thrustmaster...and stayed with them ever since. And the Warthog is a dream to fly with.
