Learn how our FIT: Family In Training program at Memorial Rehabilitation Institute enables you to safely be part of your family member’s care team.
Interested family members or caregivers chosen to participate are trained to assist patients at their bedside and in their room with activities that nursing, or therapy staff members might normally help with, including training in five areas: bed-to-chair transfers, wheelchair mobility, walking, toileting and toilet transfers. It is a partnership we developed to increase patient safety by reducing falls or other injuries, and to help family members and caregivers feel more confident and comfortable.
