How to create new folders in Outlook | Microsoft

Folders provide a way to organize email messages, calendars, contacts, and tasks in Outlook. In this video tutorial, you will learn how to organize your Outlook inbox using folders.

1. In the left pane of Mail, Contacts, Tasks, or Calendar, right-click where you want to add the folder, and then click New Folder.

2. In the Name box, enter a name for the folder, and press Enter.

3. To add a folder to Favorites, right-click the folder, and then select Show in Favorites.

I've been unable to create new folders in Outlook on the Mac. I can in Gmail that link to my Mac but I want to have this folder as a sub folder of the inbox. Not nestled under a sub folder or placing it in favorites. I want it as a sub folder to the inbox. The option to create the new folder is greyed out. I've deleted and recreated the profile folder and have deleted and reinstalled outlook and still I can't create a folder.

This is not possible on the new version of outlook for MAC - so terrible frustrating. Why hasn't this been updated yet?
