🔥Create Folders AND Subfolders in File Explorer using Excel 🗂️

In my last video, I showed you how to use #Excel and a simple batch file to create multiple folders in File Explorer. In this video, we are going to extend that knowledge and see how to create not only folders, but also subfolders in File Explorer.

This process involves copying and pasting our folder and subfolder names into the Notepad app and saving it as a .bat (batch) file. When we run this file, the folders and subfolders will automatically be created.

Great video. to make it even quicker you can separate each part of the name into multiple columns, to allow you to drag and copy, i.e. the main folder name then concatenate all the fields in a different cell. The concatenated cell is the one you select and copy into notepad. Hate retyping when I can copy.

Thank you for the new tip, but I’m trying to go further, cause you need to have your bat inside the folder where you want to create those folders. Q- Once the script in batch file has been run and the folders and subfolders have been created. Is it safe to delete the batch file?

can you suggest a slightly unique way to batch a series of different folders, all with the same subfolders e.g. 1. Incoming Letters 2. Outgoing Letters 3. Notices of Delays 4. Notices of Variation 5. Notices of Prolongation etc, Better still if they are in two or more columns, to allow for different levels, with the same subfolder structure in the second level and onwards.

I'm confused why you would stop where you did...in most cases, a parent folder would have multiple subfolders, but you didn't explain how to add multiple subfolders or iterate the creation of subfolders across several parent folders. Could you touch on that please?

Let's say I have Last name, first name in a cell and I want to create folders for each person. How would I get around the space problem/creating a different folder for last name and first names? I tried to use a formula to add quotes to each but then it just thinks its part of the formula
