Yes, customer service in Germany is sometimes really like this 😬

I lived in Munich and this doesn't surprise me at all. Thanks for sharing!

I’m glad that you found a way to enjoy the spontaneity and surprise of each part of that experience.

Oh, I have no problem shaming someone in a situation like that. It goes something like this “oh, so it’s the restaurant’s policy to force patrons to sit in the rain?“ then you just stop continue to look straight at her waiting for an answer.

There's a movie, Those Magnificant Men In Their Flying Machines. The segment with the Germans and their "by the book" pre-flight is hilarious!

I have never had bad service in german restaurants except for lateness sometimes. This story is wild. I hope she just had a bad day cuz that behaviour is worth loosing your job imho.

Kundenservice 😂😂😂

Never happened to me. Nice to relate this singular experience.

That's when you point outside and say " you go eat in the rain" then sit back down and continue to eat and talk to your freinds.

I lived in a small town just outside Munich for 21 years. I love Germany and the people, but the customer service is non-existent. Generally staff treat customers like a nuisance to be got rid of as quickly as possible 😂

I hate when waitresses just take off. Had that happen once.

One time in Munich I was at a restaurant and the waiter came with a drink and friend had ordered some time ago (the service was a bit slow). When he arrived I asked if he could also bring one for me - pretty normal request imo, but he got extremely annoyed, he said I could have ordered it at the same time as my friend (although I still had half my drink by then), and now I’m making him go to the kitchen again.

Some people don't handle stressful situations in a graceful way! 😂😂😂

Experienced “German” restaurant service when I was on my active duty tour with the U.S. Army. Had great service when we were in Munich!!

I experience many similar "inflexibilities" in my long life in Austria, therefore I'm not surprised.

I've never experienced something like that.

One time... (at band camp...😂)

Anyway, one time me and my (now) ex went to a cafe, we ordered take out but because he has back problems he went to sit down on a chair for a bit to wait for a our food to cook (they told us it'd be about 10 minutes ) there weren't many people in the csfe and the chair he sat on was obvious empty and not reserved..

Well, he got told off for sitting down.
