No one knows how the universe originated (or even the extent of the universe for that matter). To claim that it was created by an all powerful all knowing god who is eternal does nothing to add to our knowledge. However the claim by Lennox and others that the universe was created by a caring loving god is proven false every single day by reality all around us. Closing one's eyes and planting one's head in the sand, will not help solve the problems of the world.

Modern science owes its foundation to people who believed in the bible and God including some Catholic priests. Galileo, Copernicus and newton etc.The relationship between religion and science has been a topic of debate for centuries. Some scholars argue that the foundations of modern science were laid down by people who believed in God. For instance, James Hannam, a British historian of science, argues that the natural philosophers of the Middle Ages, who were mostly religious, made significant contributions to the development of modern science. They promoted the study of God’s creation, which went on to become what we know today as science. The Church, which was the center of learning in the Middle Ages, also played a role in promoting scientific inquiry.

Dawkins wasn’t stunned. Lennox’s joke about Dawkins’s wife was nonsense and his purpose was break Dawkins’s speaking and concentration.

The diffenrence between Dawkins’s wife and God is Dawkins’s wife is real. Her smile, her eyes is real. Dawkins can look at her, everyone does. But God’s, can Lennox see and prove?
